Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 AMG Coupe Launched - Price Starts From Rs 1.20 Crore

Mercedes-AMG has launched the first 53 AMG model in India in form of the GLE 53 Coupe. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe gets a 3.0-litre Bi-turbo straight-6 engine coupled with a mild hybrid system - EQ Boost (in Mercedes; speak). The "53" AMG models bridge the gap between the "43" and lunatic "63" models. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe is launched today and price starts from Rs 1.20 crore ex-showroom (except Kerala). The previous-gen GLE 43 AMG was the most selling AMG model in India and this one will replace the old 43 AMG guise in India.

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe looks modern and sophisticated and also offers new-age technology. The silhouette of the car looks striking on the road and it also offers good practicality too. The Panamericana grille at the front signifies its AMG roots and the GLE 53 badge refers to the inline-6 petrol engine. The all-new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe offers a host of features and technology. The 53 AMG model rides on 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels and get bigger air intakes. The rear of the car sees quad exhaust tips with dynamic sound control.

Moving to the inside, the GLE 53 AMG Coupe is the first AMG car in India to get the advanced MBUX system. With the Mercedes Me app, now one can also start and precool the car before going inside. Other features include 9 AMG specific drive modes, F1-inspired sporty steering wheel, standard heads-up display, ambient lighting, airmatic suspension and much more.

Moving to the heart of the matter, the GLE 53 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-6 Bi-turbo petrol engine which produces 435hp and 520 Nm of peak torque. The EQ boost hybrid assists the engine with 22hp and 250 Nm of torque while acceleration runs. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and the power is channelled to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. The GLE 53 Coupe with the straight-6 engine replaces the old GLE 43 Coupe's V6 petrol engine. Talking about the performance, the claimed 0-100 time of the 53 models is 5.3 seconds and the top whack is limited to 250 km/h.

The bookings of the AMG 53 were opened a few weeks ago and the price has been unveiled today. To offer a hassle-free experience, Mercedes India is also offering the Star Ease maintenance package which covers the owner for two years and unlimited km by paying Rs 92,000. The price of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe starts from Rs 1.20 Crore ex-showroom without options (except Kerala).
