The Thar is unarguably the most macho car one can buy this side of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. In its second generation now, this SUV has won many hearts and in spite of a couple of price hikes, continues to be in a great demand. However, it's not just the off-roaders or the really burly who've fallen for this SUV. With the fairer sex getting more involved in the world of automobiles, it's quite common to see many female drivers customising their machines to suit their tastes. The 'Thar-bie' you see here is one such modified Mahindra Thar.

Done up by Upshift Autos for one Ishita Wadia, the Mahindra Thar-bie sports UASkin Peelable Paint in Bubblegum Pink and an off-road spec front bumper from Bimbra 4x4. It also has its alloy wheels painted in black. Details of the interior aren't available at this moment but we won't be surprised to see a similar 'pink' theme carries over to the cabin. In fact, the customisers have taken the entire pink theme so seriously the even the nuts and bolts securing the two hooks on the bumper have been painted in pink.
It's not known if this SUV has been given any sort of performance updates. The regular Mahindra Thar has been on sale in two engine variants - 2.0L Stallion petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. The former outputs a maximum power of 150 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm while the latter produces 130 PS and 300 Nm. Both the motors come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while an optional 6-speed auto is also on offer. 4x4 comes as standard.

A highlight of the new Mahindra Thar is its great off-roading skills while yet another talking point is the high safety rating it has bagged at Global NCAP. With an adult protection score of 4-star in GNCAP tests, the second-ten Thar is among the safest off-roaders around. Currently, it's priced from Rs 12.12 lakh to Rs 14.17 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
