- N6 variant loses dual-tone colour options
- Turbo-petrol engine and sporty cosmetic package remain unchanged
Hyundai Motor India has made another quiet update to its product lineup, this time affecting the sporty Hyundai i20 N Line hatchback. Following recent changes to the Creta range, the company has now streamlined the i20 N Line portfolio by altering the colour palette and transmission combinations on sale. The update primarily impacts the lower N6 trim, reducing both gearbox and cosmetic choices for buyers. While the overall pricing structure remains unchanged, the revision slightly reshapes how you, as a buyer, will have to go about your purchase decisions.Read on to find out more details, but before that, make sure to join the 91wheels WhatsApp Community, specifically curated for petrolheads like us to keep up with the latest news and automotive updates.

2026 Hyundai i20 N-Line: What Has Changed?

The biggest change with the Hyundai i20 N-Line is the discontinuation of the N6 DCT variant. As a result, the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is now exclusive to the higher-spec N8 trim. Buyers opting for the more affordable N6 version will now only have access to the 6-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai has also removed dual-tone paint schemes from the N6 variant, further differentiating it from the more premium N8 trims. The N8 variant, meanwhile, continues unchanged and remains available with both manual and DCT gearbox options, along with dual-tone exterior finishes.

Despite the variant reshuffle, the i20 N Line retains its sporty character and cosmetic upgrades over the standard hatchback. Features such as the roof spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, red brake callipers, N Line badging, and an all-black cabin theme continue to be part of the package. The hatchback also remains one of the few sporty turbo-petrol offerings in the segment, especially after the discontinuation of the Tata Altroz Racer. It now primarily rivals the turbo-petrol versions of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx as its closest rival.
Turbo-Petrol Engine Continues Unchanged
Mechanically, there are no changes to the hatchback. The i20 N Line continues to use the 1.0-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine producing 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque. When the model was originally introduced in India, Hyundai offered it with an iMT and a DCT gearbox. However, the facelift update in 2023 replaced the iMT with a conventional 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo-petrol engine is now exclusive to the N Line version of the i20 range.

Following the revision, the i20 N Line range now starts with the N6 manual variant, priced at Rs 9.22 lakh (ex-showroom). The N8 variants continue to occupy the upper end of the lineup, with prices extending up to Rs 11.67 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec dual-tone DCT version. The N8 DCT variant itself is priced from Rs 11.53 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict
The recent revisions to the Hyundai i20 N Line lineup seem to be focused on streamlining the range while pushing some premium visual cues and the DCT gearbox towards the more expensive trims, effectively increasing the cost of entry for those features. While there are no changes to the hatchback mechanically, buyers wanting the convenience of the dual-clutch automatic will now have to opt for the higher-spec N8 variant. That said, for enthusiasts looking for a compact turbo-petrol hatchback with sporty design and an engaging character, the i20 N Line still remains a drivers delight.
