Kawasaki has officially launched the MY26 Versys X 300 in India, priced at Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level adventure tourer continues unchanged mechanically but receives mild cosmetic revisions and a reshuffled colour palette for 2026. Deliveries are slated to begin in November 2025. Despite being one of the more expensive 300cc motorcycles on sale, the Versys X 300 remains the most accessible ADV in Kawasaki's India lineup, sitting below the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Kawasaki Versys 1100. Design & Colour Updates: Familiar Silhouette With A Fresh Touch

For 2026, Kawasaki has discontinued the Metallic Ocean Blue / Pearl Robotic White option, offering the Versys X 300 exclusively in a Candy Lime Green / Metallic Flat Spark Black dual-tone scheme. The bike sports mildly refreshed graphics, including a new 'Versys-X' tank decal, but otherwise retains its tall stance, adventure-oriented proportions, and signature styling cues. The high windscreen, luggage rack, silver-finished exhaust, and blacked-out engine casings continue unchanged, preserving the motorcycle's purposeful touring aesthetic.

The Versys X 300 continues to ride on a high-tensile backbone frame, supported by 41mm telescopic front forks offering 130mm of travel, and a bottom-link Uni-Trak gas-charged monoshock with 148mm of rear travel. The ADV rolls on spoked wheels, 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the reaR, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres (100/90 front and 130/80 rear). With 180mm ground clearance, 815mm seat height, and a 17-litre fuel tank, the Versys-X 300 strikes a practical balance between comfort and adventure readiness. Kerb weight is rated at 175kg, ensuring a manageable yet stable setup for touring and mild off-roading.

Versys X 300

In terms of equipment, the 2026 Versys X 300 keeps things simple. The semi-digital instrument cluster combines an analogue tachometer with an LCD display showing speed, fuel level, gear position, and other essentials. Lighting remains halogen all around, underscoring its old-school charm. Kawasaki continues to offer a range of optional accessories, including fog lamps, panniers, handguards, and a center stand, allowing riders to tailor the bike to their touring preferences.

Engine & Performance: Proven Twin-Cylinder Reliability

Powering the 2026 Versys X 300 is the tried-and-tested 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, the same unit derived from the Kawasaki Ninja 300. It delivers 40 PS at 11,500 rpm and 26 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch. While no performance enhancements have been made, the smooth twin-cylinder motor remains one of the most refined units in its class, offering excellent touring credentials and highway composure.

Verdict

The MY26 Kawasaki Versys X 300 may not bring any radical changes, but its balanced proportions, dependable twin-cylinder motor, and Kawasaki's build quality continue to give it an edge in the sub-400cc touring space. It's not the most feature-rich or affordable ADV, but for those seeking a smooth, reliable long-distance companion with genuine dual-purpose capability, thIS Versys still makes a solid case for itself. With deliveries set to begin in November 2025, it remains a solid, if understated, choice for serious adventure enthusiasts.
