New-Gen Audi Q3 Teased Ahead of August 25 Launch: Expected Price, Features and Details

Audi India has dropped the first official teaser of the third-generation Q3, giving buyers an early look at the SUV that's set to headline the brand's India debut on August 25. The reveal comes just days ahead of the unveiling, and it confirms that the new Q3 is bringing a far more dramatic design language than the model it replaces, along with a heavily updated cabin.

The outgoing Q3 has been on sale in India for roughly four years, and its replacement now arrives as the opening act of a broader product push from the German manufacturer, which is lining up several new-generation models for the Indian market over the next couple of years.

Next-Gen Audi Q3: Design

Going by the teaser and the global-spec car it's based on, the new Q3 trades its rounded, familiar face for something considerably bolder. The headlamps move away from a single-unit layout to a split arrangement, sitting above a noticeably larger grille finished in a hexagonal mesh pattern and topped with Audi's flatter, two-dimensional badge.

Down the sides, the sheet metal picks up added definition through wheel-arch cladding, lower-door mouldings, and a faint crease running along the rear fender. At the back, the theme continues with split tail-lamp clusters - a connected LED light bar sits below the main lamp units, joined by a backlit Audi emblem for a wider, more planted look at night. Wheel sizes for the India-spec car are tipped to sit at 18 inches, a notch below the largest options offered on international versions, which stretch up to 20 inches.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, the changes will be as noticeable as on the exterior. Audi has fitted the new Q3 with two large displays, which include a digital instrument cluster and a wide infotainment screen set into a dashboard that leans subtly toward the driver. A redesigned three-spoke steering wheel replaces the outgoing unit, and interestingly, the stalks for lights and wipers have been relocated to the steering column itself rather than sitting as separate stalks.

Expect the equipment list to include wireless smartphone mirroring for both Apple and Android devices, a panoramic sunroof, front seats with power adjustment and ventilation, a 360-degree camera setup, and Level 2 driver-assistance features - putting the new Q3 firmly in line with what rivals in this segment now offer as standard fare.

Powertrain

Under the bonnet, Audi is likely to stick with the familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that powered the outgoing car, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the brand's Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. Output figures floating around ahead of the official reveal vary slightly by source, generally falling somewhere in the high-180s to low-200s bhp range, with torque expected to hold steady at 320Nm, enough to keep the Q3 competitive against its usual rivals without needing a wholesale mechanical rethink for this generation. A Sportback variant is also expected to join the lineup later on, following the pattern set by the outgoing generation.

Launch Timeline and Pricing

Audi is expected to price the new Q3 at a premium over the outgoing model, with early estimates suggesting the SUV could start somewhere in the Rs 45-60 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket once it goes on sale. However, official pricing will only be confirmed closer to launch. The car is expected to reach Indian showrooms this festive season.

Once launched, the new Q3 will continue to lock horns with the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1 - both of which are themselves undergoing generational or facelift updates around the same period, making the compact luxury SUV segment unusually competitive over the next few months.
