Next-Gen Bajaj Pulsar Range In 2026: Big Reset For The Icon

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Next-gen Bajaj Pulsar range likely by 2026, marking 25 years of the iconic brand
  • Classic Pulsar lineup (125 & 150) to get an all-new platform and major mechanical overhaul
  • Monoshock chassis, modern tech, and design tweaks expected, with launch aimed at the 2026 festive season

As the Bajaj Pulsar approaches its 25th anniversary, the brand is preparing what could be its most significant transformation yet. With Bajaj Auto's Managing Director and CEO Rajiv Bajaj already hinting that 2026 will be 'the year of the Pulsar,' fresh details now suggest a comprehensive overhaul of the classic Pulsar lineup is in the pipeline. This update will focus on modernising the brand's best-selling motorcycles while retaining the identity that made Pulsar a household name across India. Bajaj Pulsar Classics: Set For A Major Platform Upgrade

While the Bajaj Pulsar family today spans multiple sub-brands, the Classic range remains the backbone of Pulsar volumes. Models like the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 continue to sell in large numbers, but they also sit on the oldest hardware in the portfolio. Bajaj now appears ready to address that. The next-generation Pulsar Classic motorcycles are expected to move to an all-new platform, marking the end of the long-serving double-cradle chassis with twin rear shock absorbers. In its place, Bajaj is likely to adopt a more contemporary frame layout with a monoshock rear suspension, similar to what we already see on the Pulsar N series. This change alone should bring noticeable gains in ride quality, handling stability, and overall refinement.

Although final specifications are yet to be revealed, Bajaj is expected to retain the familiar 125cc and 150cc engine capacities, given their proven popularity and broad appeal. However, these motors are likely to receive internal updates to suit the new chassis architecture, especially if the engine is used as a stressed member. Expect improvements in refinement, efficiency, and emissions compliance, while maintaining the accessible performance that has long defined Pulsar Classics.

Bajaj is unlikely to walk away from that legacy look of the Classic Pulsar. Instead, the next-gen Pulsar Classics are expected to carry forward the muscular, aggressive stance, but with sharper surfacing and cleaner detailing. Modern touches such as full LED lighting, updated digital instrument clusters, and Bluetooth connectivity are almost certain to be part of the package. Bajaj may also revisit hallmark elements like a large, sculpted fuel tank to reinforce the Pulsar's visual presence in a crowded commuter segment.

Expected Launch Timeline

The all-new Pulsar Classic range is expected to debut in the second half of 2026, timed strategically around the festive season when motorcycle demand peaks. Early indications suggest the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 will be the first models to transition to the new platform.

Verdict

The upcoming next-generation Bajaj Pulsar lineup represents more than just a routine update, it's a long-overdue reset for one of India's most influential motorcycle brands. By combining fresh underpinnings, updated design cues and modern technology with familiar engine sizes and pricing discipline, Bajaj seems poised to future-proof the Pulsar without losing its core identity. If executed well, the 2026 Pulsar Classic range could reinforce Bajaj's dominance in the mass motorcycle segment and ensure that the Pulsar nameplate remains just as relevant in its next 25 years as it has been in its first.
