Race-Spec TVS Apache RR 310 Revealed; To Be Used In First-Ever Asia One Make Championship

Race-spec TVS Apache RR 310 racing motorcycle has been revealed by TVS Motors. The race bike will be used in the first-ever Asian One Make Championship.

Creating history, TVS Motors has become the first-ever Indian manufacturer to step into professional racing. TVS recently launched their Asian One Make Championship which is bound to search for talented riders from South Asia. This racing championship will take place in 4 different Asian countries and all the teams will race on the race-spec TVS Apache RR 310 sports motorcycle.

TVS has officially unveiled this race-prepped motorcycle which showcases hints from the Akula 310 concept sports bike. Based on the idea of a fully track-oriented racing motorcycle; this race bike hosts extensive technical changes from the body, to the engine, to performance for making it go as fast as possible around the track.

Hosting a lot of changes, to start with, the bodywork is now complete carbon fiber which ensures the race bike is as 32 percent more light and agile as it can be. These lightweight panels will help the RR 310 to reach a higher top speed at the straight track. Other changes to the hardware include the custom-built Ohlins suspension setup which can be twisted according to the rider's needs. The multiple-way adjustable suspension at both ends also comprises steering dampeners from Ohlins itself to provide a better counter-steer around the corners. Similarly, the tyres are race-slick tyres from Dunlop; which are deemed obvious for a race bike. The race motorcycle also features a RAM air-intake which helps in aerodynamic stability at higher speeds and decrease the overall lap timings.

Apart from the bodywork, the 312cc, single-cylinder DOHC engine has also undergone radical changes for race preparation. The pistons are now forged, the valves are now made from titanium, the camshafts are HLHD (High Lift High Duration), and the peak power output is now higher than the road-legal motorcycle. Although, TVS has not revealed the official power and torque figures till now of the race-spec Apache.

Talking of the Asia One Make Championship is bound to take place in 4 different Asian countries. The main target remains to bring out the undermined talented riders from the Asian subcontinent. The first country where the race would take place is Malaysia (Sepang International Circuit), then Indonesia (Mandalika International Circuit), the third is Japan (Sugo International Circuit), and the last will be Thailand (Chang International Circuit).

A total of 16 young riders have participated in this Asia One Make championship and all of them will be racing on this race-prepped TVS Apache RR 310 sports bike. All in all, it was a proud moment for the Indian automotive industry and especially for the TVS to have made the Indian flag raise globally and organize such a great event in the history of motorsports globally.
