Royal Enfield is a motorcycle brand that has sustained life in its purest form. The rhythmic thump of its motorcycle engine is so unique that it can be instantly identified from the farthest. Royal Enfield has retained the note of the engine even after making significant technological changes to its motorcycles. It is right to state that even after a century, the name Royal Enfield stands as a symbolic statement of the bike maker's legacy.
Today, Royal Enfield truly stands as a stallion in the Indian motorcycle world. The company has maintained its reputation by updating its motorcycles with the latest tech, however, it has never failed to retain the old classic or old school vibe of motorcycles that existed in the early 1970s.
One such motorcycle of Royal Enfield that retains the old school design elements but is due for new technological updates is the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
Apparently, RE is all set to launch a new version Himalayan probably in the coming months. As the internet is blowing up with the images of the new variant of the Royal Enfield Himalayan being tested on Indian roads, a clay model of the motorcycle has been witnessed, which states a lot about this motorcycle design-wise.

While comparing the images of the current Himalayan with pictures of the RE Himalayan clay model, it seems that the current Himalayan has a 21-inch front-wheel setup, whereas, the clay model seems to have an 18-inch front wheel. This could mean that the new Himalayan is a more road-oriented motorcycle rather than a complete off-road machine, however, this is yet to be confirmed. We also noticed that the test mule images on the internet are missing the fork gaiters that are to be seen on the clay model.
Interestingly, the clay model has a much more muscular look that is distinctive in nature when compared to the current Himalayan thanks to the tank shrouds. On the other hand, the instrument cluster on the clay model seems to be a newer design and hence, could be better when compared to the current Himalayan motorcycle which has a cluttered display of information. The clay model of the motorcycle showcases a new headlamp cowl and apart from that, the bike gets a new grab rail that does not have a luggage rack.
It is believed that Royal Enfield has made cost-cutting measures to make the new variant of Himalayan more affordable and beginner-friendly. Since the new Himalayan is yet to be launched, further tweaks to the motorcycle's design and features can be expected.
