Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has just launched some new colour variants of the Gixxer series in the country. The company has launched new colour variants of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 155 series. The new colour schemes will make these motorcycles look fresh, appealing and will also help to boost its sales. Let's have a closer look at them.
Starting with the younger sibling, the Gixxer 155 BS6 was earlier available only in the Glass Sparkle Black colour shade. Now, Suzuki has introduced two new colour variants - Pearl Mira Red and Metallic Triton Blue. This new Metallic Triton Blue colour variant also gets Suzuki's racing graphics and a MotoGP inspired livery. The Gixxer 250 BS6 was earlier available only in the Metallic Matte Black No. 2 colour shade. Now, it also gets the new Metallic Triton Blue colour. This colour shade of the Gixxer 250 was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Now, talking about the fully-faired Gixxers, so the Gixxer SF 155 was earlier available in the Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue colours. Now, it also gets a new Pearl Mira Red colour variant. However, the Gixxer SF 250 gets a new special colour scheme. The Gixxer SF 250 was earlier available in Metallic Matte Black No. 2 and Metallic Triton Blue colour schemes. Now, it gets a new dual-tone colour called Triton Blue with Silver. This new colour variant of the Gixxer 250 has been introduced to commemorate Suzuki's Global 100th anniversary.
This new special colour of the Gixxer 250 gets retro-inspired livery with the traditional blue and slate silver colour scheme. This has been introduced to pay homage to Suzuki's early Grand Prix machines of the 1960s. Though the company has introduced new colour variants, there has been no hike in price, which is a good thing. The Gixxer 155 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1.14 lakhs and the Gixxer SF 155 BS6 retails at Rs. 1.25 lakhs. Talking about the 250s, the Gixxer 250 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1.65 lakhs and the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 retails at Rs. 1.76 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "We are delighted to launch the new liveries for our Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer series. The 100th year anniversary Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in the new Triton Blue/Silver will resemble the 2020 Suzuki Moto GP machine displaying the brand's racing DNA and making it an apt choice for the enthusiasts. There has been a lot of queries that came our way to inquire about the launch of Triton Blue/Silver - Gixxer SF 250 after Moto GP 2020 was resumed from last July."
This was all about the new colour variants of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 155 Series. Apart from these new colours, these motorcycles remain the same. The Gixxer 155 gets a BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor that churns out 13.6 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 13.8 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The Gixxer 250 gets a BS6-compliant 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine that pumps out 26.5 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. The Gixxer 155 comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the Gixxer 250 gets a 6-speed unit.
