We have often seen that with the launch of new vehicles around, the rival competitors jazz up the competition by giving away huge discounts. This time around it is Tata Motors that are now providing Rs 25,000 discount on their flagship SUV, Safari. Is this the Mahindra XUV700 effect as the SUV will be launched in the coming few months.
Currently, Tata Motors is providing Rs 25,000 as an exchange bonus on the Safari. The variant-line up is not disclosed but we expect that right from the base to the top variant, this exchange bonus is valid. In such a case, the potential buyers can take the existing car they want to sell and then the officials at Tata will evaluate their current car. After that, a sum will be provided and with that, you will also get an additional Rs 25,000 exchange value as mentioned above.
Powering the Tata Safari is a 2.0L FCA sourced, turbocharged diesel unit. This four-cylinder engine churns out 170 PS of power with a peak torque of 350 Nm. On the other hand, the upcoming XUV700 sources its power from a 2.2L mHawk diesel unit and the expected power figures are close to 186 PS. The torque is expected to see north of 400 Nm figure. A 6-speed manual as standard and 6-speed auto is seen in both the models.

Feature-wise, the Safari comes with 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, xenon projector headlights, a huge panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Safari also has a Boss mode for the additional leg space for the rear passenger sitting behind the co-driver.
Safety features on the new Safari consist of all-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, hill descent control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors and ESP terrain modes like normal, wet and rough.
