The Skoda Octavia RS Returns; Pre-Bookings Begin From October 6!

The return of the Skoda Octavia RS has finally been made official! After a lot of uncertainty around the famed performance sedan's comeback, Skoda India has finally confirmed the same and has released a teaser on its social handles. The Octavia RS has been showcased in India numerous times before and has even been spotted testing in the country without camouflage.

Skoda Octavia RS Details

Skoda says it will commence pre-bookings for the Octavia RS on October 6, exclusively on its website, and while the prices are expected to be announced on October 17, reports suggest a proper launch is expected to take place sometime in November.

The Octavia RS will be brought in as a CBU and in limited numbers, similar to its cousin, the Golf GTI. Under the hood, it will likely feature the familiar 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol mill, churning out 261bhp and 370Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed DSG transmission. It is said to cover a 0-100kmph run in 6.4 seconds, which is marginally slower than the Golf GTI.

We can also expect to see things like a 13-inch infotainment system, and the cabin will feature a sportier black and red treatment. The dashboard will also feature decorative carbon strips and suede upholstery with red stitching. Some other features include a 10-inch instrument cluster, a powered tailgate, keyless entry/exit, welcome/goodbye signatures, and chassis mode settings among other things.

The Octavia RS will also likely come with power-adjustable sport seats with memory function. However, in the interest of pricing, Skoda is likely to delete the massage function from these seats. Skoda is also unlikely to offer the adaptive suspension as well.
