Top Things You Need To Know About The Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the facelifted version of its best-selling mid-size SUV, the Brezza, on July 24. The new Maruti Brezza will feature cosmetic updates, additional features, and a new engine option. Ahead of its launch, the internet has been flooded with leaked images of the upcoming SUV, with some revealing the vehicle completely undisguised. In this article, we'll tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming Maruti Brezza.

Exterior - Subtle Cosmetic Updates

Exterior Design

Brezza

The new Brezza will boast a mildly updated front profile with a new front grille, updated fog lamp assembly, and a new bumper with silver skid plates for a sportier look. It will also now get front parking sensors. The headlamps and DRL design remain similar to the previous model. On the sides, it gets a new dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheel design, while the overall side profile remains largely unchanged apart from the new alloys. However, the rear design of the vehicle is yet to be revealed in the leaked images. It is clear, though, that the exterior only gets a few changes to enhance the vehicle's overall appeal.

Interior - New Features

Brezza

The cabin of the new Brezza will get several new features while continuing to offer some existing ones. The leaked images show a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity. It replaces the existing 9-inch unit and is expected to offer the same UI as the Victoris. Another new addition is front ventilated seats, along with a new HVAC control panel borrowed from the Victoris and ambient lighting. The brand is also expected to introduce a new interior colour theme. Features such as a head-up display, a single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming IRVM are expected to remain unchanged.

Engine & Transmission - New Engine

The biggest change is expected to be under the hood. The spy shots reveal a six-speed manual transmission; however, it is still unclear whether it will be paired with the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine or the new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. For the automatic variants, we can expect a new torque converter transmission. The CNG version, however, is expected to continue with the same engine and a manual transmission, but it will now get an underbody CNG cylinder similar to the Victoris.

The turbo-petrol engine could be the same unit we've seen on the Fronx. The Brezza is currently the only vehicle in its segment that does not benefit from GST 2.0 due to its 1.5-litre engine, making it comparatively more expensive than its rivals. With the new engine, Maruti Suzuki will be able to pass on the benefits of GST 2.0 to customers.

The upcoming Brezza facelift will continue to compete with the Hyundai Venue, KIA Sonet, Tata Nexon, KIA Syros and other sub-4 meter SUVs in the country.
