Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition Launched With More Features & Premium Cabin

Citroen is celebrating its 108th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, the brand has launched the new Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition at Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Comfort Edition is a comprehensive package designed to enhance the cabin experience with premium materials and additional features, making the base You and mid-spec Plus trims more feature-loaded. Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition - What’s New?

The new Comfort Edition comes with the Comfort AXS Pack, which offers enhanced interior accessories to make the cabin more appealing and convenient. This pack will be available with the You and Plus trims and will include premium Metropolitan Beige leatherette seats as standard across all Comfort Edition variants. The premium beige seats enhance the overall cabin experience and offer a more plush interior. For added convenience, the Comfort Edition variants come equipped with a 10-inch Android-operated infotainment system, a reverse parking camera, a wireless charger, front and cabin dashcams, and a JBL audio system. Apart from this, no changes have been made to the exterior or on the mechanical front of the vehicle. 

The You, being the base-spec trim, benefits the most from the Comfort AXS Pack. Customers will need to pay Rs 20,000 over the base price of Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom) to opt for the Comfort Edition. This variant is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 PS and 115 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the mid-spec Plus trim is available with a turbo-petrol engine, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. The brand has not made any changes to the top-of-the-line Max variant, and it continues to come with the same set of features and interior colour option.

The Citroen Basalt offers comfort, space, and a well-balanced ride and handling package. However, the brand has not been able to achieve strong sales numbers. The Basalt competes with the likes of the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market.
