Traffic Police Would Not Be Able To Stop Cars In Traffic!: All Details

As a driver or a commuter on the road, you must have been pulled over by the cops multiple times just for a casual check of documents. This would not happen from now, especially when you are in Delhi. New norms have been floated for the traffic police regarding the same. Stay tuned to know more.

Traffic management has become one of the much necessary moves to be taken care of in a country like India. In cities like Delhi, people get stuck in traffic jams for hours and have to suffer a lot even for carrying out their daily chores. The Delhi Government is looking forward to reducing the traffic on the road by improving public transport facilities and is also giving its best to regulate the ongoing traffic on the road.

Pulling over vehicles for casual checks not only results in added pressure for you as a commuter on the road but also creates a stir for other cars as you are pulled from one lane to another, and the traffic behind has to either stop or give you a side by redirecting itself. As traffic has become a hazard on the busy roads of Delhi, this decision has been taken so as to promote the regular speed of vehicles. Just a few weeks back, a notice was issued by the Delhi Government for bus drivers to obey bus lane rules as well.

This will not only save you from unnecessary harassment but will also facilitate smooth traffic management. As per the circular, the traffic police will not be able to stop vehicles even at check blocks. They would only be responsible for monitoring and regulating the regular traffic movements in the city.

However, vehicles involving a traffic offence or violation can be pulled over by the traffic officials, especially the overspending cases. As per the higher authorities, the traffic police is primarily responsible for managing and regulating traffic, and this job is lagging behind in many ways. Pulling over vehicles in the middle of the road was identified as one of the biggest reasons for the same. If a particular region fails to implement these rules, the senior inspector of the concerned traffic post will be held responsible.
