What Are The Components Of The Air Conditioner System Of Your Car

Now, as we have already mentioned before, the air conditioning system is one of the most important features of your vehicle. In fact, after the main engine of your car, the air conditioning system is regarded as the second most important equipment, which involves a number of small and big components which work together to ensure optimum temperature and comfort inside the cabin. It is rightly said that the air conditioner system is the second biggest work station of your car after the engine. There are mainly five major components of the air conditioner system of your car, which work together altering the temperature, pressure and flow of the compressed refrigerant. In the points below, we have listed what are the components of the air conditioner system of your car:

Compressor - The compressor is the biggest and also the most important component of the entire car air conditioning system. Placed beside the radiator behind the front grille, the compressor is responsible for applying pressure on the refrigerant to regulate the flow of cold or hot air as and when required. Apart from that, it also senses the temperature of the air outside as well as inside the car and controlling the temperature output of the system.

Condenser - The condenser too is located behind the front grille, ahead of the radiator at the front. The main purpose of the condenser is to reduce the temperature of the compressed hot air coming from the refrigerant after the compressor applies pressure on the refrigerant.

Evaporator - The evaporator is placed behind the dashboard, at the back of the air vents of the air conditioner. It is responsible for pulling the refrigerant and throw off the cold air surpassing through it into the cabin.

Thermal Expansion Valve - This valve determines the flow of hot air or cold air into the cabin, depending on the option you select from the knob of the air conditioner system on the panel on the dashboard. Located between the condenser and evaporator, the thermal expansion valve checks the amount of pressure of the refrigerant as well as the temperature selected, and then on the basis of it, it calculates the amount of refrigerant to pass in to the evaporator.
