Upcoming 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan Spied On Test in India - Launch Soon?

Royal Enfield is planning back to back launches for the Indian market. Just a few weeks ago, the company launched the all-new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in the country. Also, following the India launch, RE launched the new Meteor 350 in the global markets too including Thailand, United Kingdom, Italy, etc. Royal Enfield is not gonna stop just here and the company is now planning to launch several new motorcycles in the coming months. Just a few days ago, a test mule of the RE Himalayan was spied on test in India. So, is the new 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 coming soon? Let's find out.

Recently, two test mules of the Royal Enfield motorcycles were spotted on test in India. One of them was the Meteor 350 based Interceptor 350 that draws its design inspiration from the twin-cylinder Interceptor 650. The upcoming Interceptor 350 might be later officially known as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and you can read more about it clicking HERE. The other motorcycle on the test run was the Royal Enfield Himalayan. So, will the Himalayan get a significant update for the year 2021? We tell you. Now, as you all might already be knowing that off late, Royal Enfield is now getting very aggressive both for the domestic as well as the global markets.

Very recently, a top Royal Enfield official reported to a media house that the company is presently seeking to strengthen its position both in the domestic as well as in the international markets. The bikemaker will be doing so by launching several new motorcycles over the years. According to the latest media reports, the company is planning to launch one new Royal Enfield motorcycle in every three months. The Madras-based Indian two-wheeler is aiming to launch at least 28 new motorcycles in the next seven years. Now, as Royal Enfield is going product offensive, the company will be achieving this by launching new bikes as well as enhanced versions of existing bikes.

Thus, Royal Enfield will launch an enhanced version of the Himalayan next year. The upcoming MY 2021 Himalayan will get very minor changes. It will most likely get some new graphics on the body panels. The company might introduce new colour schemes and there might be an inclusion of Royal Enfield's new tripper navigation too. The mechanicals and the hardware components of the motorcycle will remain the same as before. The ADV will continue to be powered by a BS6-compliant 411cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 24.8 PS of maximum power at 6500 RPM and 32 Nm of peak torque between 4000-4500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

However, according to some latest media reports, Royal Enfield is currently working on the refinement levels of this mill. The engine of the upcoming 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will be much more refined than the current motor. Currently, the RE Himalayan BS6 is priced between Rs. 1.90 lakhs - Rs. 1.95 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. The upcoming new 2021 Himalayan might charge a slight premium and it is expected to be launched in the second half of next year.
