The founder of Zero Custom Motorcycles, Mr Yadav has shared that the main idea was to design an adventure tourer with a great colour combination but also retain the aesthetics and characteristics of the FZX.

The initial problem faced by the team was with the ride of the height that is 1,115 mm. That was then taken care of by installing new wheels and tyres. Parts like side panels, the seat and some more were manufactured by Zero Custom Motorcycles only. The suspension of the bike too was lowered.

Mr Yadav also shares that the exhaust system of the Yamaha FZX has been totally redesigned. Yamaha offers the FZX in matt orange, metallic blue and matt black colour schemes. However, they changed the colour to metallic tangerine orange and needless to say, it really stands out. Similarly, they have used personalised Yamaha and FZX decals too on the tank of the bike to give it an aesthetic appeal.

Yamaha FZX is powered by a 149 cc BS6 compliant petrol motor. This unit churns out 12.2 bhp at 7250 RPM with a maximum torque of 13.3 Nm at 5500 RPM. A 5-speed manual transmission is seen as a standard fitment. It also gets a single-channel ABS with disc brakes at both front and rear tyres. Suspension-wise, the front is equipped with a telescopic fork whereas the rear gets a 7-step adjustable monocross suspension.

Feature-wise, Yamaha FZX gets a digital speedometer, LED daytime running lights, mobile app connectivity, electric start, clock, kill switch, side stand cut-off engine switch, pillion grab rail and others. Yamaha FZX is priced at Rs 1.27 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
