Range Rover And Defender Prices Drop By Rs 30.4 Lakh; Details!

The Defender, Discovery, and the Range Rover see their prices drop following the new GST rates, which will be applicable from September 22 onwards. Land Rover says the price reduction on its cars will be applicable from today onwards. The Discovery is among the most affordable cars in the Land Rover lineup, and depending on the variant, its prices have dropped by Rs 4.5 lakh, and the maximum reduction is upto Rs 9.9 lakh.

Similarly, the Defender is also available in multiple variants and with multiple powertrain options; the three-door 90, the five-door 110, the long-wheelbase 130, and the hardcore Octa. Depending on the variant you choose, the Defender too sees its prices lessen by Rs 7 lakh, with the maximum reduction being Rs 18.6 lakh.

The Range Rover lineup comprises of the Evoque, the Velar, the hardcore Sport, and the luxury-focused Range Rover. While it has not listed specific models, the price reductions range between Rs 4.6 lakh to a massive Rs 30.4 lakh. It is also worth noting that Land Rover recently began assembling the Range Rover and the Sport at Tata's plant in Chakan.
Rajan Amba, Managing Director, JLR India, said, The GST rationalisation on luxury vehicles is a welcome move for customers and for the industry. This move will provide much-needed impetus reinforcing our confidence in and commitment to India's luxury market.

More and more manufacturers are announcing price drops across lineups, which can only mean more good news for buyers. The Range Rover and Defender have always had a certain charm about them, and with these price drops, buyers in this segment would certainly want to look at them as an option again.
