Bajaj Avenger is a well-known name in the Indian market. The Avenger was first launched in the year 2005 and it is the first cruiser to be developed by an Indian company. The Avenger was initially launched with a 180cc engine and later it got a 220cc powerplant too. For several years, the Avenger 180 and the 220 were sold in India, but now the Avenger family has received some major updates. The 180 has been discontinued and now we have the Avenger Street 160 and the Avenger Cruise 220 on sale. So, here we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6.

The new 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 sports a macho appeal. At the front, this street cruiser gets a round headlamp with a U-shaped daytime-running LED. Unlike the Avenger Cruise 220, the Street 160 doesn't get a windscreen, but it does get a high-raised handlebar, forward-set footpegs and a single-piece well-cushioned seat to enjoy a relaxed and very comfortable ride. This street cruiser sports a retro-appeal and it has a lot of aluminium inserts and blacked-out treatment on the body panels and the exhaust. The new Bajaj Avenger Steet 160 is available in two colours - Ebony Black and Spicy Red.

2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage
Talking about the powertrain, so the new 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is powered by a BS6-compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC, twin-valve, fuel-injected DTS-i engine. This motor churns out 15 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 13.7 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is a very frugal street cruiser motorcycle. This motorcycle delivers around 40-45 kmpl of mileage in real-world riding conditions.

2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 sits on a tubular double-cradle frame. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and at the rear, it gets hydraulic type 5-step adjustable twin shock-absorbers. For braking duties, it gets a 130 mm drum brake at the rear while at the front, it gets a 280 mm disc unit. It also gets a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as an additional safety aid. The motorcycle runs on 17-inch front and a 15-inch rear tyre. Both the tyres are tubeless and while the front tyre measures 90/90-17, the rear tyre is a 130/90 section 15-inch unit. The new Avenger 160 gets an analogue cluster, unlike the all-digital digital cluster that we get on the Avenger Cruise 220.

The new 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 is available in a single variant and it is priced at Rs. 99,597, Ex-showroom Delhi.
