2020 BMW G310 R BS6 First Look Review - The Most Affordable Beemer!

BMW Motorrad has now finally launched the new BS6-compliant BMW G310 Twins in the Indian market. The BMW G310 Twins were first launched in India in the year 2018 and it became an instant hit. However, they were way too overpriced for what they offered! It's nice to see that the company has rectified its mistake this time. The new BS6-compliant G310 Twins have received a lot of updates and also new features have been added but they cost significantly less than their BS4 counterparts. Here, we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 BMW G310 R BS6.

2020 BMW G310 R BS6: Looks and Colour Options
The new 2020 BMW G310 R BS6 has got several cosmetic upgrades. For starters, it now gets new colour schemes, new graphics and more. At the front, one can see that it now gets a new all-LED headlamp with BMW LED branding and a daytime-running LED in between. We also have flashing LED turn indicators and LED taillamps at the rear. The motorcycle now gets revised tank extensions, new belly pan and radiator shrouds which makes it much more sporty than before. The new BS6 Baby Beemer is available in three colour variants. They are Cosmic Black (Black and White), Polar White (Blue and White) and a new Style Sport (Black, White and Red) colour.

2020 BMW G310 R BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage
The new 2020 BMW G310 R is powered by a BS6-compliant 313cc single-cylinder, liquid/water-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 34 PS of maximum power at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It also gets new ride-by-wire throttle technology and an 'electronic throttle grip' (electromotive throttle controller) for improved throttle response. The claimed top speed of the bike is 143 kmph and it can go from 0-50 kmph in just 2.5 seconds. It will deliver around 30-35 kmpl of mileage in real-world conditions.

2020 BMW G310 R BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The new BMW G310 R sits on a tubular spaceframe chassis. It gets USD or upside-down forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking duties, it gets 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. It is equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycle rides on radial tubeless tyres. The front is a 110/70 section 17-inch unit while at the rear, it gets a 150/60 section 17-inch tyre. Talking about features, the new G310 R gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a ton of information. It now also gets an assist & slipper clutch and four-step adjustable brake and clutch levers.

2020 BMW G310 R BS6: Price, Rivals and Verdict
Talking about the price, so the new 2020 BMW G310 R BS6 has been priced at Rs. 2.45 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. However, the new Style Sport colour variant demands 10,000 premium and is priced at Rs. 2.55 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. At this price point, it rivals against the KTM Duke 390, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and also the TVS Apache RR 310 and the KTM RC 390. Finally, talking about the verdict, so if you want a very aggressive looking naked streetfighter with loads of features, decent performance and brand value, then you should surely consider buying the new BMW G310 R.
