BMW Motorrad India is on a roll. The Indian subsidiary of the German two-wheeler manufacturer is launching back-to-back motorcycles in the country. Just a few weeks ago, BMW Motorrad launched the new 2020 BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR in India. The BMW F 900 Series consists of the most affordable Big BMW Bikes one can buy in India. Now, the company has launched the new 2020 BMW S 1000 XR in India with prices starting at Rs. 20.90 lakhs, Ex-showroom. The new BMW S 1000 XR first made its public debut last year at the world's most famous exhibition dedicated to two wheels i.e. at the 2019 EICMA held in Milan, Italy.

The new 2020 BMW S 1000 XR is the flagship sports tourer from the company in India. The new S 1000 XR has an unprecedented combination of the ergonomics of a GS and the genes of the RR. Its sporty aggressiveness comes from the RR while it gets outstanding ergonomics just like a BMW GS. Talking about the design of the motorcycle, so it gets a completely new design language different from its predecessor. The new S 1000 XR sports symmetrical headlights, a two-step adjustable windscreen and a sharper nose at the front. The motorcycle gets a new fairing, a muscular fuel tank and new split seats. At the rear, it gets some minor design tweaks and the taillight has been now integrated with the turn indicators.

Powering the new S 1000 XR is a BS6-compliant (Euro 5 compliant) 999cc, in-line four-cylinder engine. This motor churns out 165 PS of power at 11000 RPM and 114 Nm of peak torque at 9250 RPM. The new S 1000 XR can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and it has a top speed of over 200 kmph. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it gets a chain drive system. The company says that the gearbox of the motorcycle has been tweaked. The fourth, fifth and sixth gear of the motorcycle now has longer ratios in order to reduce noise and improve fuel economy. It also gets engine drag torque control (MSR) which prevents the rear wheel from slipping as a result of abrupt throttling or downshifting.

Talking about other features, so the new BMW S 1000 XR gets a brand new 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster which displays a ton of information. It also gets BMW Motorrad connectivity system. The motorcycle gets four different riding modes - Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. In the Dynamic Pro mode, the rider can alter the throttle response, engine brake, ABS, traction control and wheelie control. The electronic aids on the motorcycle include Cruise Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Shift Assist Pro, Hill Start Assist, Hill Hold Control, Keyless Go, Quick-shifter, a 6-axis IMU, an anti-hopping clutch, Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) and many more.

Its a perfect companion, ready to hit the road for all kind of journeys with sheer motorcycling enjoyment.

2020 BMW S 1000 XR price in india

The new 2020 BMW S 1000 XR has been launched in India in a single fully-loaded Pro Variant. It will be proffered in two colour variants: Ice Grey and Racing Red colour scheme. Like other BMW Motorrad Big Bikes, it is also brought to India as a CBU import (completely built unit). The new S 1000 XR has been priced at Rs. 20.90 lakhs, Ex-showroom Pan-India. This flagship BMW sports-tourer gets a standard warranty of three years and unlimited kilometres. One can also extend the warranty for two additional years. It rivals the Ducati Multistrada and Kawasaki Versys 1000 in India.
