2020 Hyundai Creta Pros And Cons - Is It Better Than Kia Seltos?

Update 18-05-2021 - The prices of Hyundai Creta has drastically gone up and it costs Rs 10 lakh for the base model and the top model fetching till Rs 17.68 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Hyundai launched the new Creta early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo and the car now comes with a fresh design language, new interiors and new engines. With the rivals like the Kia Seltos also competing in the same segment, the Creta faces tough competition in the market. If you are planning to buy a car of this class if you are considering the new Creta, here are some 2020 Hyundai Creta Pros and Cons that you should know.

Pros

1. Practical and Premium Cabin

The new Creta comes with a premium and an extremely practical cabin. There is no dearth of storage spaces at the front or at the rear, the doors can hold large water bottles and there is space below the front armrest too. In addition to this, the quality of the plastics is great and there are no fit and finish issues.

2. Extensive Features List

Be it seat ventilation or large sunroof, the new Creta has it all. The buyers will appreciate the long features list that is being offered with the new Creta.

3. Powerful and Refined Engines

With the recent updates, the new Creta comes with new engine options on offer. These include two petrol and a single diesel engine which can also be seen in the Kia Seltos.

4. Sorted Dynamics

Comparing the new Creta with the outgoing model reveals that this new model is much better in terms of overall driving dynamics. The stiffer suspension has taken a toll on the ride quality but has definitely made the vehicle much better to drive.

5. After Sales Service

the after-sales support from the Korean carmaker has always been great and Hyundai has a number of authorised workshops in the country. In addition to this, the Creta gets long warranty schemes which are an added advantage.

2020 Hyundai Creta Pros And Cons

Cons-

1. Rear Seat Space

The rear seat is no longer as spacious as the outgoing model and three grown-up adults will be a tight fit. If you need an extremely spacious rear seat bench, look elsewhere. Period.

2. No Manual With 1.4-L Turbo Engine

We all loved the new and powerful 1.4-L turbo GDI petrol engine. However, this engine can only be had with the 7-speed DCT gearbox and the brand is not offering it with a manual gearbox. Hardcore driving enthusiasts will definitely miss the stick shift transmission.

3. Missing Features

While there are a lot of features in the new Creta, some other features such as auto wipers, and a 360-degree camera are missing. The spare wheel too is not a full-size alloy, even in the top trim!

4. Design Language

The new design language of the brand is not being appreciated by everyone. The new Creta gets a completely new look but it does not go well with many of the buyers. However, in my personal opinion, this design will definitely grow on you with time.

5. No so VFM Pricing

With the top variant costs going above INR 20 Lakh on-road in many cities, the new Creta is expensive and is slightly more expensive than it should have been. The vehicle is no longer a VFM product and the buyers can buy bigger vehicles at a similar price point.
