Skoda India just unveiled their latest offering the 2020 BS6 Rapid mid-size sedan that comes with a price of Rs 7.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Rapid is the most affordable sedan in its segment. And because of the 1.0L TSI motor, it also becomes a more powerful petrol motor beating the Hyundai Aura 1.0L turbo which is a segment below when we do the price comparison. The Aura from Hyundai gets a sticker price of Rs 8.56 lakh for 1.0L motor.

With its launch, Skoda says that they have received multiple bookings for the Rapid and what makes it popular is the three-cylinder TSI motor. It makes as much as 110 PS with 175 Nm of peak torque and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Coming to the Aura then it gets 99 bhp on tap only. Now, in terms of power figures, the Rapid is far ahead of the Aura. And with that 6-speed manual transmission, it makes to cruise on the highways at lower RPMs. It is the fuel efficiency area where the Hyundai Aura turbo takes a leap ahead by delivering 20.5 km/l than the 18.97 km/l of the Rapid.

Being a 4m+ sedan has its own benefits. Like the Rapid is longer by 418 mm. The mid-size sedan is also wider by 19mm and its wheelbase sticks at 2,552 mm. This makes it a 102 mm longer than the Hyundai Aura 1.0L turbo. The boot carrying capacity of Rapid is 460 litres whereas for the Aura it is 402 litres.

Features
Here, in this article, we are comparing the Rider edition of the BS6 Skoda Rapid and SX Plus version of Hyundai Aura 1.0L turbo. And needless to say that while in terms of dimensions and engine performance, Rapid excels than the Hyundai Aura, it is the latter which provides more features on the house.
Hyundai Aura comes with 15-inch alloy wheels whereas Skoda provides steel rims for this edition. Also, the Aura also comes with ISOFIX mount child seats, reverse camera, engine start/stop, cooled glove box, LED DRLs and taillights, projector headlights and among others.
The Aura 1.0L turbo also gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As opposed to the Rapid, Hyundai also gives steering mounted controls, voice command, Analog-Digital instrumental cluster fog lights and among other features.
