KTM is a very popular premium two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market. The company made its India debut in the year 2012 with the KTM Duke 390. The Duke 390 was an instant hit in the country and since then KTM is known to offer some great motorcycles at very accessible prices in the Indian market. KTM has had a very busy 2020 in India with several all-new product launches and a slew of BS6 updates. It seems that the company wants to keep the momentum going in 2021 too. Recently, the upcoming all-new 2021 KTM RC 200 BS6 has been spied in its production-spec avatar.
As we have already mentioned before, KTM has had a very busy 2020. The company started the year 2020 with the launch of the all-new BS6 KTM 390 Adventure. It was followed by the launch of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Vitpilen 250 and a slew of BS6 upgrades and some minor cosmetic updates. Just a few days ago, KTM also launched the all-new MY 2021 Duke 125 BS6 in India and now it seems that the company will soon launch the all-new RC 200 too. It has been in news since a really long time that KTM is working on the new-gen RC series and it seems that they are now finally here in flesh. Recently, the production-spec model of the all-new 2021 KTM RC 200 BS6 was spied at a production facility.
This production facility is most likely Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant located near Pune in Maharashtra. That is because we all know that all the sub-400cc KTM and the Husqvarna Motorcycles are manufactured in India at Bajaj's Chakan plant for both the domestic as well as the international markets. Talking about this motorcycle, so it is expected to get the same chassis but with some new hardware components, an all-new TFT colour display and some more bits. The mechanicals of the motorcycle will remain the same as before but it will get an all-new design and that can be seen in this image. The new RC 200 gets a halogen headlamp with LED DRLs, the fairings have been re-designed, it gets a sharper rear-end and a bit relaxed ergonomics.
The motorcycle will also get new dual-tone colour schemes and all in all, for now, the looks of the new RC 200 are a kind of hate it or a love it design. The new RC 200 will be powered by a BS6-compliant 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor will churn out 25 PS of max. power at 10000 RPM and 19.5 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new RC 200 is expected to be launched in India in Q1 2021. What are your thoughts on it? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with all of us in the comments section below.
