The new Maruti Celerio will be hitting the showrooms soon and will be offered as an all-new product. The car not only comes with a new exterior design but in addition to this, also packs in a number of changes that have been made to the interiors. The new Celerio feature an updated powertrain that makes it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the country right now. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is just launched in the market at Rs 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Here are all the details that you should know about this all-new hatchback from Maruti Suzuki.
The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be a huge step up when compared to the earlier iteration of the car and will feature an all-new design language. The car, which is based on the brand's famous HEARTECT platform, has grown in size and now features a more curvy design along with a new grille. The headlamps look cute and complement the design of the car. The larger dimensions also help it boast a better road presence. While not a lot is known about the features list, we do expect the Celerio to be offered with front fog lamps, ventilated disc brakes, rear wiper, rear defogger, passive entry, steel wheel covers, etc.
The new Maruti Celerio will be available in six exterior colour options. These include artic white, silky silver, glistening grey, solid fire red, speedy blue, ad caffeine brown. Dual-tone colour options may not be available right now.

Powering the new Celerio will be the new 1.0-L Dual Jet Dual VVT K10C motor that will be capable of generating 49kW of maximum power and 89 Nm of peak torque. This engine not only offers better power delivery but also gets commendable fuel efficiency figures. In addition to this, it also gets a start/stop system. The power and torque figures are also better than before and the engine will continue to be mated with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
We are also expecting the brand to offer a CNG powered variant of the Celerio that will be available with a lower-spec model. No automatic CNG model however will be on offer. The Celerio CNG is not only affordable to run but also offers lesser emission levels.
The new Maruti Celerio will offer a completely new dashboard design. The car, for the first time, will be offered with a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio system and will offer a long list of features. To start with, the new Maruti Celerio gets push-button start, steering mounted controls, power windows, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The power window switches are placed below the touchscreen system for the front windows while the switches for rear windows are placed between the front seats. Having said this, the car is expected to miss out on auto climate control.
The steering wheel and the instrument cluster of the new Celerio have been lifted from the WagonR. The instrument console comprises an analogue speedometer and a small MID. You will notice faux aluminium accents on the steering wheel, AC vents, and centre console. The space inside the cabin too is better than before. Likewise, the car offers impressive headroom and comfortable seats. Visibility from inside the cabin too is expected to be great.
Seven variants of the Celerio are expected to go on sale right from the launch. The line-up starts with the Celerio LXI 5MT model which happens to be the most affordable variant in the line-up. The Celerio ZXI+ AGS will be the range-topping variant and will come with all the features like push-button start, touchscreen infotainment system, etc. Having said this, other variants include Celerio VXI 5 MT, Celerio ZXI 5 MT, Celerio ZXI + 5 MT, Celerio VXI AGS, and Celerio ZXI AGS.
The new Celerio is officially launched at INR 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and will go up to INR 6.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). This will compete against the likes of the Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Santro. The car can be booked for a price of INR 11,000 via the brand's official website or at an authorised dealership.
