One of the most interesting launches in the country is that of Kia Carens 6-seater rival, Maruti XL6 and in this article, we share with you the list of features, variants, and engine specs of this new 2022 model. The bookings of the upcoming XL6 have already begun at Rs 11,000 and the MPV will launch on April 21.
Features
Maruti XL6 was already a no-nonsense MPV before and provided all the nifty features that one needs from a vehicle. However, with the competition rising in the market, there are some features that Maruti will upgrade in the XL6. They might not be the segment-first but does the job quite well! We share only the list of features that are new to the XL6!
Ventilated Seats - This is the first-ever feature for a Maruti car. It's competition, Kia Carens already have it. Ventilated cooled front seats will definitely be a relief in this hot weather.
Four airbags - Earlier, both the variants got dual airbags at the front as standard but with the newer model, added safety will be appreciated. Four airbags will be standard in both variants.
16-inch alloy wheels - The pre-lift XL6 really looked odd riding on 185/65 R15 wheels. But with the newer model, this will all change as 16-inch wheels from the company as standard will give good proportions to the MPV.
360-degree camera - Again, this is not a segment-first feature but with a car this long, a 360-view camera helps the driver to park the MPV at tighter spots.
Electronic Stability control - An added safety feature that just gives confidence to the driver. We believe that this feature too will be made standard in both Zeta and Alpha variants.

Dual-tone paint scheme - Maruti is improving the aesthetics of the XL6. First by providing 16-inch alloy wheels and now with the dual-tone paint job. Maruti will give a dual-tone colour option in the top-spec Alpha variant only.
SmartPlay Pro touchscreen - This is the same unit that was introduced with the new Baleno this year. In addition, the XL6 will now also get connected car tech but not like what other car manufacturers offer. Its function will be quite limited.
Variants
Like before, the updated XL6 will be offered in two variants only - Zeta and Alpha.
Engine Specs
Mechanically, the XL6 now gets an all-new 1.5L DualJet petrol motor with mil-hybrid technology. This engine generates as much as 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional 6-speed torque converter. With a new motor under the hood, the manual variants now return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.97 kmpl while with the 6-speed AT, it is 20.27 kmpl.
