With the launch of this new iteration of the Maybach limousine; the luxury airplane-like car has brought a plethora of exclusive features which have become to be the first-ever in India features also. In this story, we explain to you 8 of these exclusive features of the new Maybach sedan about how do they function and what are the benefits of them.

Also known as the Mercedes-Benz User Experience system (MBUX) is the infotainment system which also features a wide range of vehicle systems and sensors data. A combination of 5-different OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screens integrated perfectly is the MBUX interface which helps the passengers to control nearly every function with just hand gestures.

MBUX beholds the voice assist of "Hey Mercedes" which can be directly controlled by the rear passengers. As the Maybach is solely developed for customers who prefer to be chauffer driven; MBUX design helps the rear passengers to control the infotainment screens which support every OTT platform as well as the ambient lighting inside the cabin including the puddle reading lamps via just hand gestures.

The MBUX interior assist controls the functions of the cabin via reading the passenger movements. A 3-D camera is used to continuously monitor the passenger's movements like eye movement, hand movement, etc. This interior assist automatically develops the sense to make the changes required in cabin controlling from AC to infotainment, nearly every function, and feature.

Comfort Rear Doors

This revolutionary technology has made the new Mercedes-Maybach a hoot in the automotive industry. The comfort rear door technology offers the rear passengers to close or open the rear doors via just hand gestures, hence eliminating the need for physical effort.

These doors are now electrically operated with motors to close or open. This motor works on the readings based on the hand gestures which are captured by a 3-D camera inside the cabin and further transferring the information to the MBUX system which works very fast without any lag.

The new generation Mercedes-Maybach has also brought the India-first adaptive rear lighting system. With a total of 18mm longer wheelbase; the focus of Maybach is to provide a first-class flying-like experience to the rear passengers.

The adaptive rear lighting helps the rear passengers adjust multiple aspects of the cabin lights as such the brightness, size, position, and even the light colour via hand gestures operated further by MBUX system. These adjustments help the passengers to get a lounge-like riding experience. Even the sun blinds on the rear glass area are gesture controlled.

Evasive Steering Assist & ADAS Level 2

The 2022 Mercedes-Maybach comes equipped with the Autonomous Driver Assist System with Level 2 AI interface. The new limousine also features the Evasive Steering Assist which senses the stationary as well as crossing pedestrians and cars on the road. A radar tech is used to continuously read the road and in critical situation the car steers itself automatically dodging the situation to the best level. This tech works up to the speed of 108 kmph.

Similarly, Active Brake assist has been featured which helps to brake the Maybach autonomously in dicey situations via the help of the AI tech and radar readings.

URBAN GUARD Plus

As part of the Mercedes 'Me Connect,' the Urban Guard Plus tech continuously monitors the parked vehicle for break-ins & thefts via an alarm system. It also features the emergency key deactivation which will deactivate the key in case of theft, and the vehicle theft assistance service which will keep the Mercedes-Maybach safe and secure. This feature also detects the on-road collision over the route car is traveling and hence alerts the driver via app displaying over the MBUX screen.

Car-to-X Technology

This amazing technology is another India-first and even Mercedes-Maybach first. This is also the part of 'Me Connect' tech; which keeps the car connected to the nearest Maybach's in the vicinity.

What it does is that it continuously records the data such as potholes, speed breakers, accidents over the road, and nearly everything on the road. This information is shared with the cars in the vicinity and hence helps improve road safety. The notifications come via the Mercedes-Cloud system and the notifications can be read on the MBUX screen as well as the audio chimes also help the driver to stay alert.

Digital Light Technology

The digital light technology made its debut via the S-Class and has also been featured in the new 2022 Mercedes-Maybach limousine. This headlight technology comprises of three extremely powerful LEDs in each of the headlight.

This light is reflected via the use of a whopping 1.3 Million micro-mirrors in each of the headlights, thus, generating a total of 2.6 million pixels of clear LED lighting. These headlights also feature an auto-leveling feature which reduces the burden over the oncoming traffic at night time.

Beltbags

With the inclusion of a total 13 airbags inside the cabin, Mercedes-Maybach also brings the India-first beltbags technology as well. This technology helps the passenger to remain safe in any case of accident.

Beltbags are the small airbags that are embraced inside the seat belts which keep the passenger intact from the injuries which occur due to the force of the seatbelt. This innovative feature shows the extreme engineering that Mercedes-Maybach offers for passenger safety. There are a total of 2 beltbags in the new limousine both of them have been offered for the rear passengers.
