Hero MotoCorp has debuted the new Xtreme 160R 4V in India. The new model has received loads of changes to it. Its starting price is Rs 1.27 lakh & it is being offered in 3 variants. Hero Xtreme 160R 4V -New Engine
The main change on the latest Xtreme is the new 4V engine. While its capacity is still the same, this new engine now generates more punch. The 163cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine comes equipped with liquid cooling. However, the 4V setup has now bumped the power by 1.7 bhp as compared to the old model. The peak power that the 4V generates is 16.6 bhp & the peak torque is 14.4 Nm. This power is mated via a 5-speed gearbox. Whereas, the 2V model makes only 15 bhp of peak power.
New Design & Colours
Hero has revamped the design of the new 4V model. It now gets a new LED headlight with a new LED DRL setup. Also, Hero has introduced new aggressive graphics on the 4V. Another enhancement is the new split seat that is offered on its top variant. This spilt seat is now more cushioned and gives the bike a more butch look. The rear end comes equipped with a smoked-black LED taillight & LED indicators. The new model is available in a dual-tone paint scheme of Neon Shooting Star and other options like Matte Slate Black and Blazing Sports Red.
New Hardware
The latest model of Xtreme is now the lightest and the fastest bike in its segment. The Pro variant weighs only 145 kg while the other two versions weigh 144 kg. Additionally, the front suspension of the Pro variant is a USD suspension. The other variants come with telescopic front forks. However, the rear suspension is the same on all of the variants i.e. a 7-step adjustable monoshock.
New Variants & Price
The Xtreme 160R is now available in three different variants. These are - Standard, Connected, & Pro. The base standard variant gets basic features like telescopic suspension, single-seat, and no Bluetooth. It is priced at Rs 1,27,300 ex-showroom. The Connected variant offers the convenience of Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. It also gets features like Geo fencing. It is priced at Rs 1,32,800. The top-spec variant i.e. the Pro variant; gets USD front suspension, split seat, & Bluetooth connectivity. This variant is priced at Rs 1,36,500.
Verdict: The new Xtreme 160R promises to offer affordable performance along with reliability. It is also the lightest bike in its segment and now with the power of 4V tech, it gets a strong top-end as well. Some of its main rivals are - Bajaj Pulsar N160 & Honda Unicorn.
