Audi India is on full boost and launching new cars back to back. Its time for the Q2 - a small crossover from Audi. Audi India has finally teased the Q2 on its social handles and the bookings are expected to open soon. Audi global recently revealed the Q2 facelift with some enhancements and new features. Although we don't have info on what variant of the Q2 India will get, out best bets are on the facelifted model. Audi India teased the Q2 in a subtle way and didn't leave any confirmation about the model.
Audi Q2 is the smallest crossover in the arsenal of German marque and it sits on the VW T-Roc's MQB platform. The powertrains and underpinnings are also shared with the quirky T-Roc. However, the Audi Q2 is smaller than the T-Roc - that too in every dimension. If we talk about dimensions, the Q2 measures 4.21 metres in length, 1.79 metres in width, 1.54 metres in height and offers 2.6 metres wheelbase. Audi Q2 isn't a big crossover and not the perfect instance of price to size ratio either.
The new facelift of the Q2 brought a minimal increase in length, LED headlights as standard etc. Audi Q2 now gets more sporty inserts and blacked-out elements to make it more sporty. The LED matrix headlights are now available as an option along with dynamic swipe turn indicators. The S-line trim of the Q2 brings in sporty black elements including gloss-black front grille.

The interiors of the Q2 are identical to the model launched back in 2016. However, the equipment has been improved with the new-age feature. The retractable 8.3-inch central screen now supports Audi Connet along with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Unlike newer Audis, the Q2 still gets the MMI touch rotary controller whereas the display is not touch-sensitive. The MMI system supports live traffic updates, WiFi hotspot, remote features along with Band & Olufsen 14 speakers setup.
Talking about the propulsors of the Audi Q2, it gets three TFSI engines and two TDI engines globally. However, as Audi India is only petrol in India, we will get the 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine producing 190hp and 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch box. The TFSI engine will also sport COD (Cylinder on Demand) technology and we will only get the front-wheel-drive option. In global markets, the Q2 is only available with a 1.5-litre TFSI petrol engine right now and that leaves us in doubt.

There are big chances of Audi bringing the pre-facelift Q2 in India with the 2.0L engine. The facelifted Q2 will get the bigger engines after some time and the India launch of the Q2 will be held in September 2020. In conclusion, there are big chances of Audi bringing the pre-facelift model of the Q2 instead of the new one, however, there is no confirmation on this. Audi India will price the Q2 in the region of 30-35 lakh ex-showroom and it will be sold through the CBU route.
