Citroen has expanded its India line-up with new trims for the AircrossX and BasaltX, alongside a longer-range version of its electric hatchback, the e-C3X. The update brings turbo-petrol and CNG options lower down the range, along with a naturally aspirated trim that keeps most comfort features intact. On the EV side, the e-C3X now covers 330km on a single charge, addressing one of the biggest concerns buyers had with the standard car. All updates go on sale nationwide from 7th September 2026, timed with the festive season.
What's new on the AircrossX and BasaltX
Both SUVs now get two additional variants each: a turbocharged YOU Turbo trim and a naturally aspirated MAX NA trim. The NA variants come with a choice of petrol or CNG.
The YOU Turbo brings Citroen's 1.2L turbo-petrol engine to a lower rung of the range, giving buyers stronger performance without stepping up to the top trims. The MAX NA trim goes the other way, retaining most of the comfort and convenience features from higher variants but pairing them with a simpler, naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Ex-showroom prices for the new variants are as follows:
- AircrossX YOU Turbo Comfort Edition: Rs 10.69 lakh
- AircrossX MAX NA: Rs 11.62 lakh
- BasaltX YOU Turbo: Rs 9.99 lakh
- BasaltX MAX NA: Rs 11.34 lakh

e-C3X now covers 330km on a charge
Citroen has also updated the e-C3X, its electric hatchback, with a new EXTENDED variant. It now returns a MIDC certified range of 330km, up from the standard car's 325km, thanks to efficiency improvements Citroen hasn't detailed in full.
The e-C3X EXTENDED continues to be sold under a Battery as a Service model. The base price starts at Rs 6.99 lakh, with a separate battery EMI of Rs 2.26 per km added on top. This keeps the upfront cost lower than a car with the battery bundled in, though total ownership cost depends on how much the car is driven.
Finance scheme for the new variants
Citroen is also offering a step-up finance scheme on the new AircrossX and BasaltX variants, running up to seven years. EMIs start lower in the first year and increase gradually, which brings down the monthly outflow early in the loan compared with a standard EMI structure.
Starting EMIs, assuming roughly 20 percent down payment, are:
- BasaltX: Rs 9,999 per month
- AircrossX: Rs 10,555 per month
This scheme is available only through Citroen's selected banking partner, and is subject to the bank's usual credit checks.
Should you consider these?
The YOU Turbo variants make sense if you want more power without paying for the top-spec trim. The MAX NA variants suit buyers who'd rather skip turbo petrol or want a CNG option, without giving up too many features. For EV buyers, the e-C3X EXTENDED's 330km range addresses one of the biggest concerns with the standard car, and the BaaS pricing keeps the initial purchase price down, though it's worth running the math on the battery EMI against your expected monthly driving distance before deciding.
