Launched in the Indian market in 1999, the Daewoo Nexia was positioned in the market as a more powerful version of the Cielo. With a starting price of Rs 6.22 lakh (ex-showroom), the Nexia was not one of the most affordable cars in the segment and received a lukewarm response from the buyers. In our this sequel of the Walking Down The Memory Lane, we have the Daewoo Nexia brochure images with us and we would like to thank Sid for sharing with these with us.

The Daewoo Nexia was powered by 16 Valve DOHC 1500cc engine that churned out 92 bhp. The peak torque output from the engine was 132 Nm. Unlike most other cars, the Nexia featured multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) technology. This engine came mated to a slick-shifting 5-Speed MT or a 3-Speed AT Torque Convertor. The Nexia was not just a powerful car but the overall power delivery by this 1500 cc was much better when compared to its main rivals.

In addition, what made the Nexia an excellent package was its superior interiors. The cabin was spacious, the seats were comfortable and supportive, and the dashboard had a very simple yet practical layout. In terms of features, the Nexia boasted a factory-fitted powerful air conditioning system, AM/FM stereo radio and cassette player, separate dome lamp for rear passengers, height-adjustable driver's seat, rear seat armrest and many more.

The Nexia had a rather simpler design language and looked elegant, without any aggressive elements grabbing attention. The slim headlamps upfront and the large taillamps with the boot lid-mounted spoiler gave it a distinctive look. The Nexia also boasted advanced safety features such as impact absorbing bumper design and collapsible steering wheel. The Nexia was available in five colour options - White, black, green, beige, and grey.
