Ford India is on a roll. The Indian subsidiary of this American carmaker is launching multiple special edition models of its current line-up to boost its sales and also to make the vehicles look fresh. Just a few weeks ago, the company launched the Freestyle Flair Edition. Recently, the Endeavour Sport was also launched in India and now it seems that Ford has something more in the pipeline. Ford has trademarked the Endeavour BaseCamp in India. So, what is it and is it coming soon to our shores? Let's find out.
So, first of all, let me tell you that the Endeavour BaseCamp is not a special or a limited edition model of the Endeavour. Instead, it is an accessory pack. The Endeavour BaseCamp is an off-road-oriented accessory pack that will not only boost the rugged appeal of the full-size SUV but will also enhance its off-road capabilities to a certain extent. The Endeavour BaseCamp was launched in the Australian markets and New Zealand last year. There, it is sold as Ford Everest. Let's talk about the off-road-oriented accessories that will be offered with this BaseCamp pack. They are mentioned as follows:
- LED Light Bar
- Nudge Bar
- Bonnet Protector
- Pioneer Roof-rack Platform
- Black Roof-mounted Carry Bars
- Sunseeker Awning
- Snorkel
- Tow Bar

The SUVs accessory pack also includes a roof luggage bag, kayak rack, a bike rack, a roof basket, an underbody lighting, a bull bar, a nudge bar, ski racks and a Rhino-rack batwing awning. However, these accessories are offered in the International markets and whether all of these will be offered with the India-spec Endeavour BaseCamp is not clear as of now. The new Ford Endeavour BaseCamp will not get any mechanical changes or new features. It will remain the same as it is now, only the accessory pack will be sold.
The new 2020 Ford Endeavour is powered by a new BS6-compliant 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbocharged diesel engine. This oil-burner churns out 170 PS of maximum power at 3500 RPM and 420 Nm of peak torque between 2000-2500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Also, it is available with both 4x2 as well as 4x4 drivetrains. For now, the Ford Endeavour BaseCamp has been just trademarked in India. We expect that Ford will launch it around the festive season of this year to boost its sales.

Talking about the price, so in the International markets like Australia, the BaseCamp model is priced at around AUD $2000 premium over the regular model which roughly translates to around Rs. 1.05 lakhs. Currently, the standard Ford Endeavour BS6 is priced in India between Rs. 29.99 lakhs - Rs. 34.45 lakhs while the Sport Edition retails at Rs. 35.10 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
