Hero Mavrick Exhaust Note And More Details Out; Deviations From The X440

Mavrick 440 is set to utilize the new 440cc platform, akin to the Harley X440. Despite sharing the platform, the Mavrick distinguishes itself with a distinct roadster profile, deviating from the X440. However, Hero introduces design innovation with features like tank shrouds, adding an element of uniqueness to its roadster appeal. The effectiveness of this approach in capturing enthusiasts' attention remains to be seen.

New spy shots of the Mavrick 440 reveal notable features, including all-LED lighting, a round headlamp, and rear-view mirrors, a robust fuel tank, wide handlebar, single-piece seat, and a standard grab rail. Interestingly, while the Harley X440 opts for USD forks at the front, this Mavrick 440 test mule features conventional telescopic forks. Additionally, the exhaust design sets the Mavrick apart, despite sharing the same positioning as its Harley counterpart.

Expected Features And More

Mavrick introduces new alloy wheels, a departure from the X440's design. However, it's worth noting that the bike could achieve a more appealing aesthetic with wire-spoke wheels. There's speculation that this feature might be available as an optional choice, considering the X440 already provides the option of both spoke and cast wheels.

The spy shots not only capture the visual aspects but also reveal the exhaust note of the new Hero Mavrick 440. To manage costs effectively, Hero Mavrick may adopt the circular 3.5-inch TFT display from the X440, offering information such as gear indicator, speedometer, side stand alert, ABS alert, and low fuel indication. Users on the X440 can also connect their smartphones via Bluetooth for accessing calls, texts, music, and turn-by-turn navigation.

Powertrain And Specs: A 440cc Heart

The braking system on the Mavrick is likely to feature a 320 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS as a standard offering. The rear suspension setup comprises twin shocks, similar to those seen on the X440. Mechanically, the Hero Mavrick is propelled by a 440cc single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine, delivering a peak power of 27 bhp and a maximum torque of 38 Nm. This powerplant is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox for smooth transmission.

Hero Mavrick Launch Date And Expected Price

The anticipated Hero model, officially named the Mavrick, is set to make its debut in India in a mere two weeks, scheduled for January 23. There is a strong likelihood that the Mavrick will be positioned at a price point below the X440, which is presently priced between Rs 2.40 lakh and Rs 2.80 lakh ex-showroom.

Verdict

With its impending launch on January 23, the Hero Mavrick 440 promises to deliver a compelling combination of distinctive design, performance, and rider-friendly features. Positioned within the fiercely competitive mid-range motorcycle segment, the Mavrick appears set to make a significant impact with its unique styling and well-balanced attributes.
