Hero MotoCorp has officially begun sales of its much-awaited maxi-scooter, the Hero Xoom 160. First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year and opened for bookings in July at Rs 7,500, the scooter is now available across Hero's exclusive Premia dealerships. Deliveries are set to commence later this month, perfectly timed with the festive season demand. Hero Xoom 160: Bold Styling and Design

The Hero Xoom 160 makes a strong visual statement with its aggressive design language. Key styling elements include dual-barrel LED headlamps, an ADV-style front beak, solid body panels,a clear visor upfront, step-up seating, and an upswept exhaust. Buyers can choose from four shades, Matte Rainforest Green, Summit White, Canyon Red, and Matte Volcanic Grey, all offered at the same price.

In terms of features, the Xoom 160 is equipped with 14-inch wheels wrapped in block-pattern tyres (120/70 front and 140/60 rear) for superior grip. The scooter gets telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers, offering a balance of comfort and handling. With a seat height of 787 mm, ground clearance of 155 mm, and kerb weight of 142 kg, the scooter aims to suit a wide range of riders. Braking is handled by a 240 mm front disc and 140 mm rear drum, supported by single-channel ABS.

Performance & Technology

Powering the Hero Xoom 160 is a 156cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 14.6 bhp and 14 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The scooter features two riding modes, Street and Race, catering to both urban commutes and spirited rides. Competing directly with the Yamaha Aerox 155, Aprilia SR 175, and TVS Ntorq 150, the Xoom 160 holds its ground with a strong balance of power and torque.

On the tech front, it comes with Hero's i3S silent start technology, a Bluetooth-enabled digital console with turn-by-turn navigation, smart key with remote seat access, and remote fuel-lid opening.

Pricing and Rivals

The Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1,48,500 (ex-showroom). This makes it slightly more affordable than the Yamaha Aerox 155 (Rs 1.51 lakh), while more premium than the Aprilia SR 175 (Rs 1.26 lakh) and the TVS Ntorq 150 (Rs 1.19-1.29 lakh range).
