Honda CB 125 Hornet: Bold Streetfighter Styling

The CB 125 Hornet brings a fresh design language to the 125cc class. It features an aggressive streetfighter stance highlighted by twin LED headlamps, a muscular fuel tank, and segment-first golden USD front forks. Wider tyres add to its planted look, while the split-seat setup and stylish muffler not only enhance the sporty vibe but also promise a unique exhaust note. The overall proportions and sharp lines give it a premium appearance that sets it apart from traditional commuter bikes. Braking duties are handled by a 240mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear. The inclusion of petal disc enhances heat dissipation & improves cooling, thus improving braking efficiency. Moreover, as an added safety measure, the CB125 Hornet is equipped with a single-channel ABS. It rides on wide tubeless tyres 80/100-17 unit at the front and a 110/80-17 unit at the rear.

Honda has loaded the CB 125 Hornet with technology rare in this displacement. At the centre is a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, compatible with the Honda RoadSync app for navigation, call/message alerts, and music control. Riders also get a USB-C charging port, full LED lighting, and single-channel ABS for added safety. These features combine commuter convenience with a premium feel, something Honda is betting on to lure younger buyers.

Powerplant

Powering the CB125 Hornet is a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that meets OBD2B emission norms. It produces 8.2 kW at 7,500 RPM and 11.2 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed gearbox for smooth shifts. With a claimed 0-60 km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds, it's the quickest bike in its segment as per Honda. Weighing just 124 kg, the Hornet will offer lightweight and agile handling, making it ideal for city commutes.

Price, Bookings, And Launch Details

Bookings for the new CB 125 Hornet will commence from 1 August 2025 across Honda's authorised dealerships. The motorcycle will be offered in four colour options, with prices to be announced closer to launch. Positioned squarely against the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R, Honda's new entrant aims to expand the sporty 125cc segment further.

Verdict

The Honda CB125 Hornet marks a strong entry into the sporty 125cc segment, offering aggressive styling, first-in-class premium hardware, and a good mix of modern tech. While pricing will play a key role in its success against rivals like the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R, the combination of features, agility, and Honda's reliability makes it an appealing choice for young riders seeking style and substance in an affordable package.
