Kia India has posted its best-ever August wholesale performance. The carmaker dispatched 29,042 units in August 2026, a 48.1% jump over the 19,608 units sold in August 2025. This growth was driven by the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. Let's look at this month's sales report in detail.
Kia India August 2026 Sales: Key Numbers
Kia India's year-to-date wholesales for 2026 stand at 220,991 units. That is up from 183,882 units in the same period last year. The growth works out to 20.1%.
The Seltos remains the backbone of Kia's India lineup. It has averaged more than 10,000 units a month since its January launch. The Sonet continues to hold strong appeal in the sub-compact SUV space. Together, the two SUVs remain Kia's biggest volume drivers in the country. The Carens Clavis and Clavis EV have also added steady demand through the month.

Syros EV Drives Kia's Electric Push
The recently launched Syros EV has found early traction among buyers. As a result, Kia is betting on this response to widen its electric footprint in India.
Additionally, the brand backs its EV lineup with a set of ownership benefits. These include an Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service, and a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty. Specifically, Kia designed these offerings to ease three common EV concerns: upfront price, battery health over time, and resale value.
Meanwhile, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing at Kia India, said the Syros EV's response points to rising acceptance of electric mobility among Indian buyers. He also added that the Seltos and Sonet continue to anchor demand while the brand works to make the shift to EVs easier for customers.
Kia Sorento Launch Set For September 2026
Kia India will widen its range further with the Sorento on 4 September 2026. It will be Kia's first hybrid model for India, with a diesel powertrain option also on offer. The Sorento marks Kia's entry into the premium three-row SUV segment in the country. For more information, click here.
Kia India's Sales And Service Network
Kia India now runs 910 touchpoints across 418 cities. The network includes 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets. These offer customers instant payments and exchange support for used-car transactions.
End Note
Kia India's road ahead looks promising. With the Sorento hybrid arriving this September and a new-generation Sonet reportedly in the pipeline for 2027, the brand is set to keep widening its play across segments and powertrains. For Indian buyers, that means more choice, and more reasons to watch this space.
