Mahindra Scorpio N With New Features Spotted Ahead Of Launch

Mahindra Scorpio N, popularly known as the "Big Daddy of SUVs", is all set to receive a mid-cycle update. Ahead of its official launch, all the new changes have surfaced online after being leaked by workers at Mahindra dealerships. The updated SUV is expected to debut on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, August 15. Here's everything it is expected to offer.

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

The Mahindra Scorpio N was launched in 2022, and since then, it has received several feature updates, including the addition of Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, and the Carbon Edition. Now, leaked photos and short videos circulating online have revealed what appears to be the SUV's next major update.

Among the biggest highlights is a larger 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, likely borrowed from the Thar Roxx, paired with an equally sized fully digital driver's display. Adding to the appeal is a panoramic sunroof, a feature that Scorpio N buyers have long been asking for.

Another noticeable change is the redesigned dashboard layout. Instead of the vertically stacked AC vents seen on the current model, the updated SUV gets horizontally positioned vents placed below the touchscreen. As a result, the cabin looks cleaner, more modern, and better aligned with Mahindra's other SUVs.

Talking about the exterior, the only visible change is the new set of diamond cut alloy wheels, possibly of 17-inch. Additionally, as seen in the leaked photos, the updated Scorpio N will get UV-cut glass, which features a subtle green tint to reduce the amount of direct sunlight entering the cabin and help maintain a cooler interior temperature.

In simple terms, it offers the benefits of aftermarket sun-control films while remaining factory-fitted and fully legal. Moreover, the powertrain will remain same as before, the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel enigne, with 6-speed manul and 6-speed toruqe converter, and only the diesel comes with 4x4 drivetrain.

How It Will Benefit The Brand Scorpio N

Realistically, these updates are unlikely to have a significant impact on the Scorpio N's sales. Buyers choosing this SUV are typically drawn to its rugged body-on-frame construction, rear-wheel-drive dynamics, and commanding road presence rather than an extensive feature list. That is also why the lower and mid-spec variants continue to outsell the top-end trims.

Most of these new additions are expected to be reserved for the Z8 variant, which could see its price rise to around Rs 25-26 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers who prioritise luxury, technology, and a long feature list within Mahindra's lineup often gravitate towards the XUV 7XO, as it is the brand's most premium and refined monocoque SUV. The Scorpio N, on the other hand, serves a different purpose altogether, offering a more rugged and capable driving experience thanks to its ladder-frame chassis.

In that sense, this update is less about boosting sales and more about keeping the Scorpio N in step with evolving customer expectations. It ensures the SUV no longer feels behind the curve on the features front while continuing to stay true to the qualities that have made it a success.

End Note

Mahindra is essentially bringing many of the Thar Roxx's features to the Scorpio N and is likely to market it as a facelift. However, in reality, it is more of a comprehensive mid-cycle update than a full-fledged generational change. With these additions, buyers can also expect a slight price hike, while Mahindra could further expand the lineup by introducing new variants to cater to a wider audience.
