The Maruti Gypsy has been one of the most iconic and famous cars to be launched in the Indian market and has gained a fair share of fan following amongst the motoring enthusiasts. Check out the Maruti Gypsy King Brochure images in our this sequel of Walking Down The Memory Lane.

The Maruti Gypsy, codenamed as MG410, was first introduced in the Indian market in the year 1985 and was replaced by the MG410W in 1993. The MG410W Gypsy King then later replaced the MG410W in the year 1996 and became the longest selling models and most famous Maruti gypsy iteration. Powering the Maruti Gypsy King was a 1.3-L G13BA petrol engine that was also seen in the Maruti Esteem. The maximum power output from this engine stood at 60 bhp while the peak torque output was rated to be 100 Nm. The brand launched the upgraded engine with MPFI technology in the year 2000 which further enhanced the overall capabilities of the vehicle.

The Maruti Gypsy was available with a soft top and with a hardtop as well. With the launch of the Euro-2 compliant model, the power output from this engine was boosted to 80 bhp while peak torque output figures stood at 103 Nm. The simple and robust mechanical components and a light curb weight of the gypsy made it a popular choice to be used in off-roading conditions. In addition to this, the Gypsy also featured features such as windshield wipers, hydraulic clutch, adjustable front seats, and a number of other features.

The Gypsy soon became a popular car for those who needed a tough, robust, capable, and affordable vehicle for adventure and exploring. In addition to this, the Gypsy was extensively used by the Indian Army and various state police departments as it was not only capable but also scored high in the reliability and practicality department.

The Maruti Gypsy King was taken off the shelves in the year 2019-20 due to poor demand in the market. However, it is worth noting that the car is still being sold to the Army on special order.
