MG ZS EV Now Available In 10 More Cities; 1000th Unit Rolled Out - Details

MG Motor India launched the ZS EV in January this year. The ZS EV was the second offering from the British-originated Chinese-owned carmaker in India after the grand success of the Hector SUV. The MG ZS electric car was launched in the country at an introductory starting price of Rs. 19.58 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Hitherto, it was available only in 11 cities across India. Now, the company has rolled out the 1000th unit of the car from its Halol plant. Also, the MG ZS EV will be now available in 10 more cities.

So, upon launch, the MG ZS EV was available in just five big metropolitan cities of the country. These include the Delhi-NCR region, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Just a few months ago, the sales facility was expanded to six more cities. These cities were Pune, Surat, Cochin, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Chennai under the phase-II expansion plan. Now, under phase-III expansion plan, ten more cities have been added.

The MG ZS EV has been now introduced in 10 more cities. These new cities are - Nagpur, Lucknow, Agra, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Aurangabad, Indore, Coimbatore and Vizag. The bookings for the ZS EV are now open in these cities. You can book one for yourself by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000 on the company's official website or by visiting your nearest MG dealership. Thus, the ZS EV is now available in total 21 cities of India. Also, 1000 ZS EV's have been rolled out from MG's Halol plant located in Gujarat.

Commenting on the expansion, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said, "India is today taking steps in the right direction in the green energy and infrastructure space and we appreciate the recent steps taken by our central and state government in the field of EVs. These steps will contribute to an increased demand for EVs in India in the long-term. In the light of these developments, we are delighted to initiate the next phase of our ZS EV expansion which will work towards driving superior EV adoption in the country."

The MG ZS EV is powered by an electric motor that churns out 143 PS of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. It gets a 44.5kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that claims to deliver a driving range of 340 kilometres on a single charge. This electric car is feature-loaded and spacious too. Talking about the price, so the MG ZS EV is available in two variants - Excite and Exclusive and is priced at Rs. 20.88 lakhs and Rs. 23.58 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi respectively.
