More Bikes Like Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Coming Soon?
The statement given by Mr Rakesh Shrivastava, ED, Bajaj Auto Ltd, during an investor's call, indicates that the company is targeting to develop more CNG bikes in the future. These motorcycles could use the nomenclature of the Freedom 125 but in a smaller package. The Freedom 125 has become the first CNG motorcycle in the world. Bajaj has already commenced its deliveries across India. So, the only thing that is stopping Bajaj right now from developing new CNG bikes, is the response of Freedom 125. Bajaj wants to be sure that the CNG tech is accepted well and good by customers in India before more products are introduced.
The introduction of CNG technology in the two-wheelers is surely a bold step. However, a brand new nice will take time to be understood by customers and the company. The response of Freedom 125 is crucial to note down, as it will become the foundation stone for future CNG bikes. For now, there is no information regarding these upcoming CNG bikes. However, a close look at the Freedom 125 hints that these CNG bikes will be either smaller or bigger in engine capacity, than the Freedom. There is a high possibility that a 100-110cc CNG engine will be developed and introduced later, catering to the demand of buyers.

Verdict
Considering the fact that a CNG bike would be cheaper to own than a petrol bike, the success of CNG technology in two-wheelers can not be guranteed. But, the Freedom 125 could prove to be a gamechanger in the long-term, as it is going to be cheaper to own as well as cheaper to use. Other major OEMs like TVS have also started to develop the same technology for their upcoming two-wheelers.
