Royal Enfield 650 twins were showcased in a 120th-anniversary limited-edition avatar at the 2021 ECIMA show. These limited-edition motorcycles are soon going to be launched in the European market in the coming week. An India launch will also take place in the upcoming months.

Royal Enfield has been a cult motorcycle maker and the fan following for the brand is global. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are the two current flagship models from the India-based manufacturer.

At the EICMA 2021, Royal Enfield showcased the completely hand-built and specially crafted limited-edition which celebrated the 120 years of manufacturing from the company. These limited-edition motorcycles were sold within 120 seconds too in a flash sale that took place last year online over the official website of Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield also made it clear that only a total of 120 units of these will ever be made. When these motorcycles went on sale over the company's website, all of them were sold within 120 minutes.

Royal Enfield has divided the 120 units into two halves. A total 60 of Interceptor 650 and 60 Continental GT 650-anniversary editions have been manufactured.

These limited-edition motorcycles feature a plethora of uniqueness from head-to-toe design. Both of the models have been finished in the 'Black Chrome' shade which was a process of paint followed by Royal Enfield in the 1950s. Apart from this, completely blacked-out engine bay and exhaust units are backed up with matt black finished spoke wheels. Royal Enfield has also equipped these models with accessories such as the fly screen, engine guard, bar-end mirrors, and heel guards as standard. A contrasting gold finish is also used throughout the design to make them stand apart from the regular models.

Each motorcycle will feature a hand-made brass badge that features the unique serial number for each product. This level of exclusivity makes these anniversary editions even more desirable.

On the technical front, these models will embrace the same unchanged 649cc, parallel-twin motor producing 47 hp of peak power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox is a 6-speed constant mesh with a slip and assist clutch to aid the rider.

The 120th Year Anniversary Edition of the Interceptor 650 is retailed at Rs 4.50 lakh whereas the Continental GT 650 retailed at Rs 4.80 lakh (both on-road, Chennai). With the European launch happening in the upcoming week, we expect that the launch of these motorcycles in India shall take place in the coming months.
