The Himalayan 450, as anticipated, will be larger than the current Himalayan. It is based on a completely new platform as it'll feature a new engine. The design is that of a typical high-end ADV with a long front stance and a fat rear end. The front tyre size looks like a 19-inch while the rear shall be 17-inch. Additionally, the test bike is seen using a USD front suspension and monoshock rear which might be adjustable. The test bike is also seen using spoked rims but we can expect a road-centric variant also that might be based on alloy wheels.

The Himalayan 450 will be the most advanced bike from RE to date. It is going to be the first RE to get a liquid-cooling setup. Its engine is expected to be a 450cc unit that shall make peak power of around 40 bhp. Also, it will get a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-assist clutch. It'll also become the first RE to get a fully digital instrument console. We expect that RE will offer features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, & even cruise control on it. The test bike is also seen using all LED lights. The headlight looks similar to the one seen on the Super Meteor 650. Also, the brakes look bigger in size; possibly carried forward from the Super Meteor.

Verdict - Launch & Price

RE has not spoken a word about the Himalayan 450 till now. However, online rumors suggest that it will debut by September'23 globally. Hence, Indian launch of it can be expected sometime around the upcoming festive season. As it'll rival directly with KTM Adventure 390 & BMW G 310 GS; we expect that it'll be priced somewhere around Rs 3-3.30 lakh.
