Sneak Peek: Tata Punch EV Spotted Ahead Of Launch- Check Pictures

Tata Motors is currently engaged in robust testing of another addition to its electric vehicle lineup, the Tata Punch EV, intended for the Indian market. In a recent sighting, the model was observed parked at a charging station. A closer look at the forthcoming electric micro SUV provides additional insights into its features and design.

Tata Punch EV Spotted Docked At The Charging Station

In the image, the Punch EV can be observed undergoing charging at an electric vehicle station. Notably, the positioning of the charging port, located beneath the front bumper, just underneath the grille. Beyond this detail, the front fascia's arrangement remains consistent with the internal combustion engine (ICE) version.

Shifting the focus to the sides, the prototype comes with squared wheel arches, substantial side cladding, and alloy wheels reminiscent of those found on the Tata Tiago and Tigor models. The rear of the vehicle highlights an elongated roof spoiler hosting a prominently placed high-mounted stop lamp, accompanied by a rear wiper and LED taillights.

The Interiors Shots

The most notable change is the two-spoke steering wheel, which was initially showcased in the Curvv concept. A similar steering wheel design has been spotted on the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift as well. This two-spoke steering wheel includes touch controls and an illuminated Tata logo at its center. Previously, interior images of the Punch EV unveiled noteworthy alterations. While the dashboard layout remained somewhat consistent, there were evident revisions to the center console. Notably, the new console featured an electronic parking brake, an armrest, and a jewel rotary gear selector dial, resembling the design found in the Nexon EV.

Moreover, the recent interior spy shot of the Punch EV presents distinct design elements. The rotary knob, reminiscent of the Tiago EV, is retained, and a manual hand brake is also present. Largely, the layout remains somewhat similar with some EV-specific tweaks.

Battery And Range

Anticipated to offer versatility, the Punch EV is likely to offer two battery pack choices. Meanwhile, a driving range of 250- 300 kilometers per full charge can be expected. However, there is still no official update about the powertrain and other specs. With the details and anticipations, the price could fall anywhere around the Rs.10 lakh starting range.

It will rival the likes of other compact EVs like the Citroen eC3, and Tata Tiago EV.
