Tata Harrier Sales Increase By 62% YoY

Tata Motors, on Thursday, announced that the sale of its mid-size SUV Harrier sales increased by 62% in the month of August 2021. Tata sold 4,505 units of its duo, Tata Harrier and Tata Safari in the last month. While the Tata Harrier was launched in 2019 it did not immediately manage to attract much public attention. Hence, Tata launched a revised iteration of its mid-size SUV in 2020, which helped Tata increase its sales in the market.

The updated Harrier stood and made its place in the market. Few major rivals of Tata Harrier are the Jeep Compass as well as the MG Hector. Last month, Tata has managed to sell 2,743 units of the SUV, which is a clear sign of the Harrier performing better than ever as it has even registered a YoY sales growth of 62%. Comparing the number of units sold in August last year to the units sold in August this year, there is a difference of 1094 units. Tata Harrier was able to become the fourth most popular model in the homegrown carmaker's lineup, behind the hot-selling trio of Nexon, Altroz and Tiago.

Tata Harrier is powered by a Kryotec 2.0-Litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual transmission.

Tata has built its Harrier on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGARC) derived from the Land Rovers D8 platform. The SUV has healthy dimensions with a length of 4595 mm, a width of 1894 mm and a height of 1706 mm.
