
Tata Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan both received 4 stars in adult occupant safety and 3 stars in child occupant safety. Global NCAP released the rating of the facelifted variants of both the cars - these new updated models were showcased officially by Tata Motors earlier today. For the record, other Tata cars have fared well too with the Nexon and Altroz getting 5-star ratings for the same crash tests.
Tata Tiago and Tigor both received 12.52 points out of 17 in adult safety and 34.15 points out of 49 in child safety. Unfortunately, the bodyshell integrity was found 'unstable' at the speed of 64km/h. Global NCAP hasn't performed the UN95 side impact test with the Tiago and Tigor. Global NCAP reported good protection for driver and passenger's head and neck. Driver and passengers knees showed marginal protection. The footwell area was fount unstable. The bodyshell was rated as unstable and it was not capable of withstanding further loadings.

Tata Tiago and Tigor don't come with ISOFIX anchor points. The 18-month-old CRS was installed using the adult belt and support leg rearward facing and the protection offered to the 1.5 years old dummy was good. Talking about the safety features, Both Tiago and Tigor comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, seatbelt reminders, speed sensing alarm and front seatbelt pre-tensioners.

The facelifts of Tata Tiago and Tigor will be launched this month and will offer a single BS6-compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine with 85 ps and 114 Nm of torque. It is offered with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The old 1.05-litre diesel has been discontinued due to a lack of demand.
