Upcoming Hero Xpulse 400 has been spied yet again in Ladakh. The test bike was spied along with two other new models featuring new engines & technology.
Hero motors are working on a new Xpulse model. The test mule of the upcoming Hero Xpulse 400 was spied recently in Ladakh. Hero has been consistently getting feedback for the Xpulse ADV's lack of top-end performance. Hence, a new more extensive engine and more tech-equipped Xpulse is on its way.
Hero Xpulse 400 Details
Spied again at high altitude, the test mule was spotted resting roadside. The images give us a rough idea of what to expect from the upcoming ADV from Hero. First of all, it will be more prominent in size. The front wheel looks like a 21-inch spoke setup. At the rear, we could spot the single monoshock adjustable suspension. Additionally, the swingarm is box-type to provide the chassis with more strength.
The exhaust can design mimics the current Xpulse 200 4V. One can also spot the long-travel adjustable USD suspension at the front. This will help maintain the off-road capabilities of the Xpulse. Feature-wise, a complete LED lighting, digital instrument panel, USB phone charging socket, and maybe even the riding modes will make their way. However, we are currently unsure about them due to a lack of official announcements.
Speaking of the engine, Hero might equip it with a bigger 300cc or more capacity unit. This is to take on the rivals like the current KTM ADV 390 and the upcoming RE Himalayan 450 ADV. Again, we can not assume anymore regarding this engine due to incomplete information. However, the upcoming months will help make us know more about it.
Along with a full-fledged ADV-packed rally test bike, a less hardcore variant was also being tested. This will possibly be the Xpulse 400T. We think it will be a more road-focused bike to rival the competitors like the Honda CB300F etc.
Hero Xtreme 400
The spy images also included a third test bike. This test mule was a fairing-equipped variant. Most of its design resembled the current Hero Xtreme 200S. It seems that Hero will be using this more powerful engine for making a sports tourer as well. The test bike featured alloy wheels, USD front suspension, and LED lighting.
We suspect that all of these bikes will be revealed at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2023. Until then, we wait.
