A Multi-Stage Celebration of Talent

The 2024-25 edition saw participation from an all-time high of 7,567 contestants across five key roles - Technician, Service Advisor, Parts Manager, Sales Consultant, and a newly added category, Tele-Caller. The contest unfolded over three stages:

  • Regional Rounds (Aug 15-Sep 30, 2024): Shortlisted through an online examination, top scorers from each zone moved forward.
  • Zonal Rounds (Feb 17-Mar 18, 2025): Held at Yamaha Motor Academy and selected dealerships, this stage further filtered the talent pool.
  • National Finals (May 13-14, 2025): Hosted at Yamaha's Surajpur facility in Greater Noida, where 40 finalists battled it out for top honours.

Winners were celebrated in a grand ceremony graced by Yamaha's senior leadership, with the top technician earning the chance to represent India at the World Technician Grand Prix 2025 in Japan this November - a prestigious global event that crowns the finest technical minds from Yamaha dealerships worldwide.

Skill Meets Service Excellence

Yamaha

Each category within the competition tested domain-specific competencies:

  • Technicians demonstrated their expertise in fault diagnosis, repair precision, and routine maintenance.
  • Service Advisors were judged on customer handling, communication, and timely service delivery.
  • Tele-Callers, making their debut this year, were assessed on telecommunication etiquette, persuasion skills, and customer engagement.
  • Sales Consultants were evaluated on their ability to create a premium buying experience and manage client expectations.
  • Parts Managers showcased inventory management prowess and their contribution to minimizing service delays.

The event was not just a competition, but also a mirror to Yamaha's deeper strategy - ensuring that every touchpoint at its dealerships reflects premium service values and technical brilliance.

Leadership Speaks

Yamaha

Reflecting on the event, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd., shared,

"Our 3S Grand Prix is a celebration of the people who embody the Yamaha spirit every day. It's their dedication that defines the ownership experience our customers enjoy. This initiative reflects our continued investment in nurturing talent and delivering excellence at every customer interaction."

Growing Year on Year

What began in 2010 with a modest participation of 350 technicians has grown into a nationwide phenomenon. By 2019, the numbers had tripled, and with the inclusion of Tele-Callers in 2024-25, the contest reached its highest-ever participation mark of 7,567 - a testament to Yamaha's expanding dealer network and the growing enthusiasm for customer service excellence.

The Role of Yamaha Motor Academy

At the heart of this initiative lies the Yamaha Motor Academy (YMA) - a global learning platform that empowers 3S dealership staff through hands-on training and structured modules. YMA plays a pivotal role in shaping dealership professionals into brand ambassadors who deliver exceptional experiences, from showroom floor to service bay.
