Lastest Updated On 3rd Nov'2023 : Kia is set to make a significant addition to its lineup with the upcoming launch of the KIA Carens CNG, expected to debut next year. While specific details about this launch are somewhat limited, Kia is broadening its Carens series by introducing the new Kia Carens X-Line variant, which will provide customers with two extra choices. This X-Line variant is positioned as the flagship model within the Carens range.
The Kia Carens is one of the most affordable and well-equipped MPVs available in India. The Carens not only has a high demand in the market, but it also offers severe competition to its competitors in terms of pricing. The Carens is available in three engine options - 1.5-L NA Petrol Engine, 1.4-L Turbo Petrol, and 1.5-L turbo diesel. The inclusion of a CNG variation will bring another model to the lineup, making the vehicle more appealing to those looking for a feature-packed CNG MPV.
What we know so far?
Kia Carens CNG has been spied testing on Indian roads. According to spy images, the Kia Carens CNG will be equipped with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. This Carens engine produces 140 horsepower and 242 Nm of peak torque in its petrol version. With this engine, purchasers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The Carens CNG's power and torque figures will, of course, be lower than the petrol versions.
Design and Dimensions
The Kia Carens lacks SUV-like style in favour of a sleek, understated, and urban-cool design that will appeal to a wide range of purchasers. The Carens, on the other hand, is based on the K1 chassis and features a low-set hood with big LED headlights dominating the front fascia. The CNG version will have the same design language as the normal version, as well as the same dimensions.
