Just after the launch of the all-new 2020 X6, the 2020 BMW X5 BS6 starting price has been slashed by the German car-maker. BMW did so by offering a new base variant in the line-up which is Rs. 8 lakh cheaper. The newly launched trim is named as SportX and lacks a number of features and packages to justify its low cost.
The X5 was previously available in two trim options - xLine and M Sport - which were priced at Rs 82.9 lakh and Rs 84.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The SportX, just like the X5 xLine, is only available with a 3.0-L diesel engine which puts out 265 PS and 620 Nm of peak torque while the M Sport only comes with a 3.0-L petrol engine which produces 340 PS and 450 Nm of peak torque. It is worth noting the fact that unline xLine and M Sport, the SportX model comes equipped with an 8-Speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission and also lacks the two-axle air suspension.

On the features front, the SportX misses out on the character package, laser headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, glass application on the interior elements and many other features such as touchscreen key fob, 464-watt 16-Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger and leather upholstery.
However, the 2020 BMW X5 BS6 SportX trim gets LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED rear lights and fog lights, and a panoramic sunroof. Talking about the features on the inside, the car comes with 4-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, 12.3 inch virtual instrument cluster and a 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment system. In addition to this, the car also gets inbuilt sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a 205-watt 10-speaker audio system.
The 2020 BMW X5 BS6 price starts from Rs 74.9 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 84.4 lakh for the M Sport variant (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The X5 rivals against the cars such as the Mercedes-Benz GLW, Audi Q7 and the Volvo XC90.
