In a fresh report, Honda Cars India will bring in their popular City in a fifth-generation avatar in the Indian markets soon. The sedan will make its debut on March 16 and will come in BS6 petrol and diesel engines. Bookings for the 2020 Honda City India version is said to commence on the day of its unveiling.
Sharing more details on the design front then it takes inspiration from the elder sibling, Civic, with the full LED projector headlight setup and sharp profile. The 2020 Honda City is already on sale in Thailand markets and the India spec version carries a few design changes from the international one.
The interior will see a dual-tone shade rather than the all-black one along with faux-brushed aluminium trim which further enhances the premiumness of the car. The higher trims might use lighter shades for the seats.

The new-gen Honda City will continue to use an electric sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels and full LED headlight setup. Please note, these features will be reserved for the top-spec ZX variant.
Under the hood, it will come with BS6 compliant 1.5L petrol and diesel engines and power figures of both are expected to remain more or less the same. The ongoing City produces 117 bhp along with 145 Nm of peak torque for the petrol and the diesel generates 99 bhp with 200 Nm of maximum torque.
What's new is that Honda might jig up the petrol engine with mild hybrid technology which will further improve fuel efficiency. This system comes with the international spec Jazz too. Currently, Maruti Suzuki only offers the mild-hybrid technology on the Ciaz.

With the new design, features and engines, the prices for the new Honda City is expected to see a premium over its current version. Once launched, it will rival with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
